"was it really that funny?" he cocked his head a little bit, thinking that you would have found it annoying that i would be nerdy not funny. as blackhawk laid down next to you, he also pulled back a little when his furr brushed yours, finding the close quarters unnerving. he looked up at the stars, distraacting himself by the beauty of the speckled abyss of the sky. knowing that under the same sky, my own family is curled up safe in their frozen den with a litter of new pups. going on with their lives without any recollection of who i am or what i did. oddly finding comfort in the thought instead of pain Thought. her ear twitched and she looked away," i thought it was..." she felt embarrassed that she had laughed so hard. she realized she also showed him her stomach, but that didn't bother her. she trusted him so why not? but she hadn't laughed that hard in a long time and she needed it. she smiled and looked at the stars as the orange and pink faded and black replaced it. her yellow eyes sparkled as they reflected the millions of stars. she loved being out here, no lights to block out the stars. it was the best thing in the world. it made her feel so small to think about everything that could be out there. it made her feel unimportant. she looked at Blackhawk who was also looking at the stars, wondering what he was thinking. she hoped he was right though... about her finding her mate. and she hoped it was soon. she wanted to share this with him, this moment of pure beauty. she frowned for a moment and then put on a smile. she thought about his mate and their pups. she looked at him again," i have a question.. and hopefully it's not too personal. why didn't your mate come here with you?"

Why hadn't she come... i've haven't seen her for a while now, i hope she's alright... as the silence continued on for a while, he just sat there staring at the stars. then slowly looked down and at you "no, its not too personal... i don't know why she didn't, i would have liked her to, but i haven't seen her for a bit. she's probably home with the cubs and doesn't want to leave them. though, it is quite odd that i can't find her. one day, ill have to introduce you to her. she's quite sweet and cheerful. i'm sure you two would become great friends... if only i knew where she was..." he faded back into his thoughts, run senerios of what could have happened and slowly getting darker as they went, eventually leading to senerios where she is killed, along with the pups, and starts to really worry about what has happened. she could see him running through the scenarios in his head. she could see him worrying about it. she sighed and nudged his shoulder, trying to bring him out of his thoughts. "i'm sure we will. she sounds amazing. i could help you find her if you'd like..." she flicked her tail, a smile spread across her muzzle, exposing his sharp white teeth. an adventure was just what she needed right now. especially with a friend. who knows, maybe he was right. maybe she would become a good friend to aiyana. you never know. she thought about it for a moment. this could be fun, just her and blackhawk hunting for his mate and pups. who knows where they were. but she didn't care, she would search forever for them. she smiled and looked at him, waiting to see if you he would go for the idea.

blackhawk thought about it for a bit, no clue how to start start "um.... ok." he said, but still just sat there, waiting for you to lead the way, slightly confused what just happened and whats going on. his thoughts still focused on his mate, scarlet and their unborn pups.

she smiled and jumped up, excitement filling her, threatening to overflow. she grabbed his ear in her teeth and tugged lightly. "let's go! right now. she's waiting for you!" she bounded away, into the forest. her senses alert, her mind buzzing and her heart thudding. this was the first thing she has done for anyone in the pack, or done anything for anyone in a long time period. yellow eyes darted back to the large male who was laying by the rock still. she huffed and mumbled something under her breath. she ran over to his side and nudged it with her head," c'mon!!!" she was eager to be on the way and her paws were itching to run. the night was beautiful and she didn't wanna waste it sitting around like prey waiting to be caught.


ooc: it's cool. mine's kinda short too. i was thinking we could actually get scarlet in on this in a few posts when we get close to her.

at watching aiyana's sudden enthusiasism, blackhawk was slightly dumbstruck by it was slow to react, but when she came running back and rammed her head into her side blackhawk finally gave out a groan and stood up "ok, ok. i'm up, a big ol' oaf like me takes a bit longer to get up and get to speed." blackhawk started to purposely take his time as he stood up and stretched a bit, teasing the already anxious bouncing wolf. "jeaze, i hope my pups aren't as energized as you, they'll kill me before they're even 2 weeks old!" once again teasing aiyana and trying to distract her as blackhawk suddenly took off im the direction at which she was originally heading, show a surprising burst of speed from something so big and is also able to keep up the extraordinary speed due to his extremly large bounds, covering the same distance of about two of yours in only one.

she rolled her eyes and laughed. she impatiently waited for him to get up. he wasn't that old and he was acting like he was older than the moon! she grumbled something when he started stretching, geez he's taking forever! i wanna go now!

"jeaze, i hope my pups aren't as energized as you, they'll kill me before they're even 2 weeks old!"

she whined," HEYYYY! i take offense to that!" she then nudged him lightly on the shoulder with her nose, showing she was kidding. right after he took off she narrowed her eyes and bounded after him. she was one of the fastest wolves she knew, she'd never met another wolf faster. but blackhawk was two times the size of her so two of her bounds were equal to one of his. yet, she caught up quickly. she was smaller, closer to the ground, more agile. he was big and clunky and you could hear him from a mile away. she laughed and ran by his side, her senses alert in case someone decided to join them. she sniffed around, maybe north would be the best way to go. her yellow eyes peeked at the large male," which direction did you come from?" her words came out perfectly, like she was sitting still. she didn't get tired easily.

as aiyana quickly caught up next to blackhawk, he started to pretend that he was pushing himself. he thought it would be fun to left her think she was fast, but when she asked where he came from he noticed that she wasn't pushing herself either so he decided to stop. responding just as easily as she asked, blackhawk said "the den's on the other side of the river near some rocks, its a small cavern the we dun out a little bigger. follow me." at which point he turned his clumsy loaping gait into more of one built for speed, lowering himself towards the ground and absorbing the shock of his weight with his shoulders, thus eliminating the loud noises of his running and saving him energy and pain. his 3 years alone and traversing the continent forced him to find a way to move his large body easier, otherwise it was impossible for him the catch the large elk he followed, in the snow of the north they were slow, but on the plains they were faster than any deer and most wolves. it also gave them a perfect line of sight, making it impossible to sneek up at his size. he had honed his body to be able to move as agile as a small wolf and as fast as the elk. he smiled as he started to leave aiyana behind a bit, but know by her graceful gait they shed beable to keep up with him, though maybe not for long. he also delighted in the fact that he still wasn't having the strain himself just yet. "come on, its just over here"

aiyana watched as he lowered himself, his thumping silenced and he moved just as quietly as she did, although she was still slightly quieter cause of her lesser size. she nodded when he told her where and followed him, easily keeping up. he acted as if he was pushing himself but she knew he wasn't. she wasn't a stupid ass. she was very intelligent. she smirked when he noticed she wasn't pushing herself and went to his normal run. sure two of her bounds equaled to one of his but that didn't mean she couldn't keep up, easily. she followed him when he turned, her bright yellow eyes seemed to glow in the dark as they searched for the place when he said "over here." she spotted it and walked towards it, waiting for him to lead her in, she didn't want to intrude.

blackhawk lead you on up to the pile of rocks that concealed the den and slowed to a walk "here it is. home sweet home, but i dont smell her here, se's probably out hunting" blackhawk started to nose around the den then headed inside, his whole body takeing up the enlarged entrance still. "nope, not here. any ideas where else to check speedy demon?" he said as he poked his head out of the den, he knew you were one of the fastest wolve here, he could tell that by how you seemed to still not push yourself when he was near his limit. he found it surprising since he always thought himself to be quite fast, and annoyed that the second wolf he met is already better than him.

[WHISPER;]

she watched as he disappeared in the den, sniffing around. he came out and asked if she had any ideas. she laughed when he called her speedy demon. she could tell he was annoyed that she was faster than him. maybe she could slow it down a bit so he wouldn't get upset over it. "hmmm... anywhere near here that she would have gone? like a field or a river or something?" she looked around, she could smell a female but it was stale. his mate hadn't been here for a day at least. she could smell water and figured it was a river not too far from here. "yeah.. let's try the river." she turned and walked a few feet before looking over her shoulder. "i'll take it easy on you this time." she winked and laughed before bounding away, slowing so that he could take the lead.

blackhawk headed after you then stopped almost as soon as he reached you, he smelt a deer. just the scent seemed to set his stomach growling even though he just ate and he set off towards the river even faster now, gliding across the ground in search of the wonderous food. as he neared the river he caugh sight of the fairly sized deer just at the same time it caught sight of him. he started to close in on it as it tried to gain its footing on the wet rocks. quickly he was upon it and lunged for its neck, grabbing it in his jaws and throwing it to the ground with him ontop, then quickly severing its neck. the whole ordeal seemed to play in slow motion as it happened to blackhawk even thought it only took a few seconds. he started to eat hungrily at the deer, forgetting that he had company with him until quite a ways into it, at which point it stoped and back up "sorry, did you want some?" remembering to wash his mussle in the river, he sat down and let you eat.

as she ran she caught the smell of deer, so did blackhawk because his stomach growled and he lunged forward. as they came go the river she saw the deer, blackhawk saw it and it saw them. she growled, so much for sneaking around. it tried to run, but on the wet rocks its feet kept slipping. blackhawk bounded forward before she could and killed it within a few moments. she watched as he tore into it, eating three fourths of the good sized deer. he looked at her, like he just remembered she was with him and offered her some. she nodded," i suppose." she watched as he washed his muzzle before walking over and tearing a piece off.

after she ate she looked around. she had cleaned her muzzle and was exploring the river. she couldn't smell any fresh scents of his mate. only stale ones, maybe a couple days old. she frowned and walked back, sniffing the whole way. she wanted to help him but she had no idea where the female would go. she sat beside blackhawk. "i don't smell anything. but that doesn't mean she's not close still. anywhere else we could look?"

blackhawk watched as aiyana searched around the river, he was running through his head all the places scarlet and him had been but was still coming up blank "i have no idea where else. i meet her here at the river and this is where we stayed. we made our den here and we've lived here. the whole lake side smells of here because this is our home. the lake is our little territory inside the territory." he said as he sat down, he hadn't left the lake side since he had arrived in the city and had, until now, been quite content with staying. the place was beautiful, there was clean water and always good hunting. plently of wolves came by to visit but never too many to be crowded. "its always been peaceful here at the lake so ive just never left." he looked around, loveing everything there was about this place
