There must be no course but to fight it out. Every position must be held to the last man. There must be no retirement.

No one could have foreseen what was to happen when Albus Dumbledore arrived at an orphanage and met one Tom Riddle. Who could have guessed that this small boy could become the greatest and evilest wizard in the world? His reign of terror has already lasted for what seems like a lifetime, his presence a constant black cloud covering the once free wizarding world. Every time you step out of your front door there is the very real chance that you will not return. Death Eaters are on the prowl, searching for their next kill. Every day the Daily Prophet is covered with the news of new deaths and disappearances, each day there is the constant fear that someone you know, someone you love will be in the list of the dead. Many people simply cannot cope with the continuing threat but there are those who are willing to stand against the growing darkness. This secret organisation is heard of only in whispers, but one day it will help to save the wizarding world.
Within Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry the seventh years are beginning to realise that this is their final year in the safety of the castle, soon they will be thrust out into the real world and forced to fend for themselves. They know that the world around them has changed, there once was a safer time but now all they know is fear, pain and death. The sanctuary they have enjoyed whilst at school will soon be over, their lives will be in their own hands without the protection of their teachers.
Sides are already being chosen, deepening the rift between the already divided houses. Families are being torn apart, siblings lost on opposite sides of the board. Friendships are being tested to breaking point, lovers thrown aside. Things are going to change soon. They have to inherit this world around them, but is it possible to change it for the better? To give a future for their children, where they can live in safety and peace? That question remains unanswered but for the moment they must ignore the thunder in the valley and focus on the mundane tasks of school work. They must first survive this seventh year before they can focus on making a difference to the outside world.
