The year is 2075 and if you're a human, you probably don't remember the world any other way than it is now. Destroyed. Corrupt. Violent and dangerous. You're told it's better than it used to be, but you don't know what it was like back then and the government doesn't tell anyone much. Only that Divinus Foedus is just a myth and the paranormal problem is under control. You might have had someone die at the hands of rogue paranormal beings, but you definitely don't remember how it got this out of control.F O E D U S
You see, way back in 2010, the CIA found evidence of paranormal creatures, beginning in Eastern Europe. After a reconnaissance branch with a specialization in paranormal subjects was developed, more studies commenced. A lot of paranormal beings were used as lab subjects, but it was all for the good of mankind. They were living weapons and a danger to all. They were faster, stronger, with capabilities and powers that surpassed any living human's. So mostly all of them were tagged with numbers, though some managed to slip through the cracks, and a good portion of those were victims of experiments. Few escaped. Many died.
Somewhere along the line, they organized. Lance DaVilliard lost his wife and took after the government with a vengeance. It was called Divinus Foedus, or the Supernatural Alliance. Fitting that he would use a dead language to describe beings that should not be alive in the eyes of their enemies. Strange that he should use a Latin noun that, as an adjective, also means 'hideous,' 'horrible,' or 'foul.' Then again, maybe that was just as intentional as using the language itself. All wordplay aside, the group rose to power and now they control the United States government from behind a veil of secrecy. Those humans that become aware of their existence are kidnapped and likely disposed of. But you don't know this because the government is told to lie to you. And unless you have friends in low, dark places, you never will.
don't worry 'bout a thing,
'cause every little thing is gonna be alright.
