Xiv It hadn't taken long for the meeting to finish and all of the mutts to clear out. Xiv held back, watching as everyone went off on their own. He especially wanted the Alpha pair to scat, seeing as he wasn't in a very good mood after being demoted. And for coming in late, nonetheless! Would either of them have preferred it if he'd not shown up at all?! Of course, then he'd more than likely be stuck with Blue as the pack slime. What had Dangle called it? Slave? Personally, it baffled the boy how the loud-mouthed Ekali or whatever-her-name-was could get off with a beating, but not be placed as a Slave, and Blue had her eating privileges taken away for twenty-four hours. How, exactly, was that fair in anyone's eyes? Come to think of it, was eating actually a privilege?
His thoughts were private, and nothing that went on inside his head had any chance of being blabbed off where one of the two Alphas could catch wind. Then he might have a reason to ditch the Skeleton pack and see how much fun being a loner was. Xiv hadn't grown up with the Skeleton pack, he didn't think, because no one there seemed to recognize him. In fact, before the spring of this year, he couldn't even remember living anywhere. It was all a black void. But maybe he was just suffering from amnesia or something. Or, an even wilder thought, Xiv was born a five year old! Ha! Wouldn't that baffle modern science!
But as every one of his new packmembers picked their way through the parking lot, Xiv kept his eyes locked on the little black wolf with a spitfire attitude--a.k.a. Blue. He could tell she wasn't entirely happy with everything, but she wasn't stupid enough to call Dangle or his mate Nova out on it. Smart girl. The boy was almost hoping she would turn around. Give him a few more seconds to make up his mind as whether to disappear or actually try to make a friend. Some may ask: Why did you pick her? His only answer would be: Because she's the first one I saw. Yeah, I know, right? Creepy.
He stood and began meandering around the practically-empty lot, steering clear of Dangle's beat up vehicle like it carried the plague. Xiv could hold quite the grudge, apparently. His pure Siberian Husky form padded around, inspecting the crushed chain-link fence and the multitude of abandoned cars before selecting a rusty, maroon convertible. He lept up into the driver's seat, then slipped back out just as fast. The thing smelled disgusting! To describe it, the beast could only muster the gall to call it moldy McDonalds--the things actually did decay after a few decades!
Wrinkling his nose, Xiv crawled beneath the car for some shade, pleased to find it offered a few degrees of temperature drop in this Indian summer. From here, he couldn't see a single soul. So much for keeping an eye on the girl. Her loss. The male yawned, then scouted the parking lot with his one blue and one brown eyes. Patience was not in his character, however, so one should no be surprised when he scooted out from the underside of his convertible and huffed, upset and bothered. The weather was too fuckin' hot, and he had an undeniable and certainly mystifying urge to find the damned wolfette.

Blue
How can you see into my eyes like open doors? Leading you down into my core, Where I've become so numb. Without a soul, my spirit sleeping somewhere cold, Until you find it there and lead it back home...

.xXx. It was an entirely different, overwhelming, feeling to want to speak out against someone, and yet not be able to. The she-wolf had stayed calm the entire pack meeting, her outer shell projecting nothing but her pure, serene calm. It wouldn’t have grabbed anyone’s attention, due to the fact silence usually caused others to fade into the crowd. If you were silent in the right times, it was as if you weren’t even there. This, Blue had picked up on, during recent occasions. And it was this, as well as the will to live, that kept her from speaking out against her unfair punishment. Blue’s mind had been spinning; her body tense and restrained. She’d wanted to speak, no—she’d wanted to snarl and yell, like a pup might in the midst of a tantrum. It wasn’t so much the fact she was being deprived of food that aggravated her; but rather the fact the punishment was simply unfair. Blue had always been the type of female to speak out against things that bothered her, such as unfair rulings. But here, in the middle of a gathering as large as the Skeleton, she knew better. The wolf had been outnumbered greatly, and although she had speed on her side, she was positive if she said something out of line, it would be the end of her. And trust me, Blue was more determined than that. She wouldn’t let herself perish under the paws of a pack so completely vile, as this one. No, she would die of good causes; hopefully peacefully. Oh, she’d give so much to go peacefully. Blue’s ears swivelled quickly, as she slunk out of the sight of the pack, the second the meeting had been adjourned. She, not hurriedly, walked towards the mass of wrecked vehicles, before slipping under one of the raised cars, thus enclosing herself in darkness. Blue’s ears immediately flattened as she turned, peering through the mass of the vehicle to stare towards the alpha pair. She watched most of the group leave, before letting out a small sigh, her body relaxing physically once they were out of sight. Blue glanced to her right, before starting to exit; only before coming to an abrupt pause. The female looked towards her right once more, only to see Xiv. She raised a brow slowly, slowly trying to make up her mind. Why on earth would he stick behind? The she-wolf shrugged off her question mentally, before slipping from underneath the car, therefore showing herself to him. Blue was usually one to speak first, but she had no idea of the intentions of the male before her. Immediately Blue’s ears perked up; though her expression stayed unmoving. Crystalline eyes moved over his face quickly, before flickering towards the ground. As soon as Blue realised that would have been considered a sign of submission or even fear, however, she forced her gaze back to him. The female’s head stayed aligned with her shoulders; raising only slightly to show she didn’t have any interest in being aggressive. It was only a moment later she let her back legs recline, so the female sat before him, her tail curling lightly around her body. And she just stared. Without thought, without voice, without a soul, Don't let me die here. There must be something more, Bring me to life... Words: 618 Muse: Alright Notes: Shorter than normal, but I felt bad for not posting. :3 She's a weird one, haha. Xiv Sun beat down upon the male's skull, his red fur capturing the heat. He panted, then forced himself to stop. It looked foolish, to be a slave to his own body. He decided when to whimp-out and try to allieviate the faint feelings of 'stroke that panting normally did--the body's natural response, a way to cool off. But he had a mission. And though it would likely be against the Alpha's rules (which didn't affect him anyway), Xiv scoured the parking lot for the nigrescent frame of Blue.
It did not take long to find the wolf. She appeared suddenly from beneath a car, and her gaze was focused on him. Xiv's forehead creased as the dame's ears pricked, her eyes falling than raising immediately, probably by some thought in her brain. Blue fell to the ground, her buttocks resting on the pavement, blue orbs trained soley on one object, one animal, one Xiv. What a strangle damsel! The Siberian Husky crooked his head, then began waltzing forward. He paused, then spoke out, having decided to the one to break the ice. Besides, it didn't look like she'd had any interest in doing it first.
"Sucks, eh?" the drake growled, not offering any explaination as to what he was talking about. The only indication he gave was a series of nods, first to Dangle's car, indicating the meeting; then to the way which the Alpha pair had departed; and finally to the lupe herself. Xiv was not a man of many words nor actions, expressing himself in as little syllables as possible, which oft' times came across as either insolent or shy. The former was certainly true, thought the same could not be said of the latter. Shyness was weakness.
A "commoner" such as himself should probably not speak to a "sychophant" like the girl had been demoted to, but Xiv was not one to follow the law. Besides, by the 'morrow, she would be back to her normal rank, whichever that was. The wolfette seemed a tad peeved about something--the reason obvious. He took a seat kitty-corner from the female, ears falling backward lazily. It may have looked like he was angry, but Xiv's aerials almost always lay against his head--anything else just looked silly unless he was expressing some emotion physically.
