white paws glided across the forest floor as the beautiful she-dog ran to the lake, her bright green eyes shining as the sunlight hit them. her brown, white and black speckled coat seemed to shimmer in the light patches the cover of trees let through. the female slowed as she neared the lake, this was one of her favorite spots. water was her most favorite thing in the world. she smiled and seemed to dance across the bank to the edge of the water. slipping her snow white paw into the water, testing it, before stepping in completely. she sighed happily. this was the life. she loved being a loner. no crowds, no bitchy females all wanting the attention of the same male, no taking orders from anyone but yourself. this was why she lived. to be on her own, to be free.
she submerged herself completely, swimming out into the center of the lake. her strong legs made her glide swiftly through the water as she tried to catch the duck family that was swimming close by. she almost caught one of the babies when the mother turned and snapped at her nose. Aislin barked playfully at the duck but it flew away then landed in the water again beside it's mate. she rolled her eyes and swam back to the bank, shaking the water from her coat. trotting gracefully over to a pile of rocks she laid on one, soaking the sun into her skin. she shivering in delight and turned her bright green gaze back on the lake, watching the duck family. she kind of envied them, peacefully swimming all day long with each other. their cute little family. she was all alone and she hadn't seen any other loners in a long time. maybe they all gave up and decided to join packs. but not Aislin, she was too independent, too stubborn. she smiled and settled her head on her paws, watching the ducks swim by over and over. she fell into a light snooze before too long.
her ears pricked when the sound of rustling ferns woke her. she opened her bright green orbs and looked around. she yawned and stood, stretching. she shook her long coat out and titled her head slightly to the side. she appeared vulnerable, but little did everyone know she knew very well how to take care of herself. her claws dug into the soft earth at the edge of the rocks. "who's there?" she asked, a growl rising in her throat.

Remus's paws crunched over the pebbles and the leaves that had fallen onto the dirt path that lined the forest, leading to the lake. Twin ebon harks were lifted on either side of his skull, acoustics cupping any faint noise that might come to them. His frost blue eyes were locked a head of him scanning around for any signs of movement. His tail waved behind him happily as he walked. The husky brute loved beind out here near the lake. It was so peaceful really that he never wanted to leave here. Remus had come here earlier , and loved it and now decided to return for a visit. It helped remind him of the world being it was so quiet in the city now without the humans. Though there were some humans wandering around, but they were infected and zombies.
He had stepped on a twig snapping it in half. The noise made a loud 'crack' and he heard a voice call shortly behind it. He broke through the forest and merged onto the beach of the lake. He spied a female. He planted his rump down on the ground, careful not to invade her personal space. Forelegs kept the front of his body upright. He regarded her carefully and spoke softly.
"Hello I'm sorry to scare you. I'm Remus. What's your name?" Remus said calml as he waited for her to speak.

her green eyes seemed to get brighter when the male appeared. she watched him sit down, his voice came out softly. Remus was his name. the little australian shepherd sat down, wrapping her tail around her paws. she dipped her head," hello Remus, i am Aislin. it's quite alright, just making sure you weren't a skeleton pack member." she shivered at the thought of meeting one of those brutes. she wasn't the strongest dog, she was fast though. still, it wasn't a dream of hers to come face-to-face with any of them. "it's a pleasure to meet you." she said softly with a smile.
she looked him up and down, studying him. others would call it staring, some would say she was being creepy. she always shrugged it off. staring was how she learned about others and she wasn't going to change it. he was a husky, large compared to her. he was quite handsome, but she wouldn't say anything about that. she blushed slightly just thinking it. she had just met this male. she shook her head and smiled at him again. "what brings you to the lake today?"
