The bright blue eyes of a young pup were all that was visible in the dim light of the evening. The moon shone faintly from above but didn't shine enough light on the earth below to make a difference. Determination burned in the eyes of the pup as he stared at a rabbit, eyes narrowed, waiting for the right moment to move closer. Finally, the rabbit put it's head to the ground and began to chew on some grass. Koda took this opportunity to slink forward, his body low to the ground but not so low that the grass would brush his belly. He also kept his tail to one side so it didn't brush anything, remembering the lesson he had recieved from Zaira. When he was just a few steps away from his prey, he sprang into the air before landing on his target, snapping it's neck with one bite. A proud grin spread across the young pup's face as he carried the dead rabbit over to the stone stairs that led up to the church. Sitting down on them, he began to dig into his meal, enjoying the taste of the meat and blood. It felt good to know that he could catch his own prey now. It made it easier for him to live by himself and not have to depend on anyone else as much as he had to when he was first orphaned and left to fend for himself. When he finished his meal, all that was left was bones and he brushed them into the grass before laying down on the top step, enjoying the warmth it still held from the sun that day. His ears remained alert though, even when his eyes drooped closed. He didn't want someone to sneak up on him.

Kobe watched as a young pup stalked a rabbit, eventually capturing it. He smiled. This dog was pretty good. He watched the pup devour the rabbit but still keep watch. Apparently the watch wasn't close enough, as when Kobe came into view, a look of surprise was on his face. "How's it going, pup? Koda, isn't it? I remember from the meeting. I am Kobe, to refresh your memory. I saw that catch. You are pretty good, if you don't mind my saying." He smiled, not his charm-the-ladies smile, but his guy smile, the one he wore when he was relaxed and among friends. He planted his rump on the ground next to Koda, who still seemed a little surprised. Kobe parted his jaw in a yawn. "So what are you all about, Koda? You are still young, you got some choices to make, huh?" He said in a deep laughing voice. He looked at Koda with his liquid brown eyes, awaiting the dogs answer.

Koda jerked his head up when he heard the pawsteps of another dog coming towards him and surprise swept across the young pup's face as he saw a male Skeleton pack member coming his way. Rising to his paws, Koda pricked his ears towards the new comer, curiousity getting the better of him as usual. His tall dark ears pricked forwards as he listened to the dog speak, the surprise slipping off of his face as he realized the dog was no threat. "So what are you all about, Koda? You are still young, you got some choices to make, huh?" The older dog's words confused to young pup and he let the confusion cross his features, making it apparent on his face that he was unaware of these so called choices he had to make. "Choices? What kind of choices?" He asked, rising to his paws but sitting down once more, trying to keep himself sitting still. It was rather hard for him to sit still though because when he got excited he got rather jittery. His light blue eyes looked over at the older male, excitement and curiousity clear in them as he waited for the other dog's response.

Kobes black lips curled in amusement as the young dogs expression turned quickly from surprise to confusion. Choices? What kind of choices? [/b] He heard the pup ask in a curious voice. "Long term choices, like what position are you going to aspire to, how you are going to be. The same ones all young dogs are faced with. Don't worry, there is no test or anything like that." He said in a relaxed and good-natured tone. Kobe almost laughed as Koda struggled to keep still, standing then sitting again, and quivering with excitement. Kobe stared up at the sky and watched a lazy bird fluttering past the old abandoned church. Turning his attention back to Koda, he smiled. "And aside from that, what do you like to do?" He asked curiously. He like to get to know other dogs pretty well to see if they were likable or not and if he would stay at all.[/blockquote][/size]

Koda listened intently to the older dog as he began to explain the choices that he had to make. Realization crossed the pup's face but he started to get nervous. He hadn't known that all of these decisions he had to decide right now when he was still so young but I guess it sort of made sense. . . Now that he thought about it, he wasn't sure about the answer to any of these questions. He had just been planning on seeing what happened and making sure that it was a good thing and that it would help him out. When the other male asked him what he liked to do, Koda thought for a moment, trying to figure out what he did like to do. "Well. . . I like girls, fighting, learning how to fight, playing, stuff like that I guess." He replied, his light blue eyes looking up at the older male, wondering what he would have to say about the things that Koda enjoyed doing. There really wasn't to much that he didn't enjoy but he couldn't think of all the other things he liked to do right on the spot. His mind had somewhat gone blank for the moment.

Kobe laughed as Koda became obviously nervous. "Don't worry kid, you don't have to figure it all out right now, I was just making conversation." He stretched and shook his fur. His muscles were itching for a run, but he didn't want to just up and leave. He could wait. The beaucerons eyes twinkled as he heard the younger dogs interests. "No kidding! I happen to like the same things as you! Especially the first one, if you know what I mean." He winked his brown eyes and watched a rabbit hop around across the road eating the grass, unaware that one like itself had been killed and eaten moments ago. It was lucky Kobe wasn't hungry. Then again, the rabbit wasn't watching... And Kobe could always bring it back to the pack for anyone who hadn't eaten. His muscles tensed, ready to shoot forward like an arrow. "Hang on a second, kid, this will only take a moment." He whispered as the rabbit moved into the perfect spot, and he flew toward it, snapping its neck before it knew what was coming. He padded back to Koda, his plump prize hanging from his jaws. Dropping it on the step of the building, he smiled. "Almost as good as you, yes?" He asked.

Koda felt a sigh of relief rush through his body as Kobe explained to him that he didn't have to come up with the answers to the questions he had asked right then and there. Thank goodness cause Koda was far from ready to make any life changing decisions. A smile began to cross the pup's face as he realized the dog was just trying to be friendly. As soon the male said he liked the same things Koda did, especially the girls part, an even wider grin crossed his face. "Really? Do the girls like you? Cause I am always open to pointers." He replied, giving Kobe a wink as well. "Perhaps I could even help you and give you a few new ideas. What do ya say?" He asked, rising to his paws and wagging his tail softly. His light blue eyes were full of excitement but he sat down when Kobe went after the rabbit, waiting as patiently as Koda could. When the male returned with the catch, Koda shrugged his shoulders playfully as if to say 'not bad'. A sly grin crossed the young pup's face once more and he rose to his paws again, waiting once more for the older dog's response.
