I Wanna Be The Best [Dangle]

An eager young pup ran full speed towards a car, lept onto the hood of it, then onto a tall stack of tires and from there he lept up onto a car stacked on top of another one. Getting his balance quickly, he slowly walked onto the hood of the car, sitting down on the edge as he looked out over the parking lot that was part of the Skeleton Pack's territory. Light blue eyes scanned the black pavement for any signs of movements. When nothing caught the pup's eye, he sighed and rose to his paws, letting out a loud and long howl. Well as loud of a howl as a pup could manage. Koda then sat back down on top of the car, holding his head up high and puffing out his chest to make himself look bigger. He always imagined what it would be like to be the alpha of a pack. It had to be pretty cool to have all the dogs at your command. Knowing that no matter what you said, they would follow you and do what you told them. Yeah. Now that would be the life. Sure it would be challenging to have to make decisions that would probably make a couple dogs mad but the perks had to be worth it. Cause come on, Dangle, the alpha of the Skeleton Pack had all of these dogs at his command that all looked up to him and thought he was awesome, he ruled many territories, and he had almost all of the females in the pack drooling at his paws! How could it get any better than that? Koda smiled before putting on a very serious expression and raising his head even higher before closing his eyes. His tail motionless and his chest all fluffed up.

Dangle's paws lightly touched the asphalt that covered the parking lot. Both ears were pricked upright, acoustics cupping any faint noise that might come to them. His ice blue eyes roamed around. His nose detected the scent of the new pup that had joined his pack. A grin formed on his maw.

he could train and teach this pup the ways of the pack. How to be strong and tough and a respected leader. Perhaps one day this pup would prove to be worthy. So Dangle had high hopes for him already.

Sure enough his eyes landed on the pup. He padded right over to him and remained standing as he spoke to him.

"Hello there young pup," Dangle said to him as he kept both ears pinned backwards, a sign that Dangle was going to start instucting him and it was serious. Dangle took instruction seriously and knew that his pup had a lot in him and wanted him to reach his full potential.

"I hope you are ready to begin today's lessons. First lesson is making sure that you have the necessary balls to be a tough pup for this pack. I'm going to ask you a serious of questions. Give me your honest answers" Dangle said slowly planting his rump down on the ground and kept his forelegs in front of his chest.

"First question. If there are two females in the pack vying to be beta, how would you decide who is the better qualified?" he asked him and waited.

The voice of another dog brought Koda out of his daydream and back to reality. He jumped a little at the sound and quickly caught sight of the Skeleton Pack's alpha, Dangle. Quick as he could, Koda climbed down off of his tall perch and came to stand in front of Dangle, dipping his head in submission to the superior dog. "I hope you are ready to begin today's lessons. First lesson is making sure that you have the necessary balls to be a tough pup for this pack. I'm going to ask you a serious of questions. Give me your honest answers" Those words were lik music to the little pup's ears. He smiled but kept his enthusiasm under control as Dangle went on and asked him the first question. "First question. If there are two females in the pack vying to be beta, how would you decide who is the better qualified?" Koda listened intently and thought hard on his response before he finally spoke.
"I would look to see which female had better leadership skills and how well they did their job. . . sir." Koda replied, raising his head a little so he could look up at the big German Shepherd in order to tell if he had answered the question right or wrong.
He could feel his heart beating in his chest as he waited for the Alpha to reply and tell him if he was even close to being right. Koda really didn't want to fail but he found that even more than that he didn't want to disappoint Dangle.

Dangle listened to the pups answer. He nodded in approval.

"Good answer" Dangle said nodding."Next question. If there is a threat to the pack, how would you handle it?"

Dangle slowly began paing around the pup. Once he stopped, he planted his rump down on the ground.

His tail thumped behind him , sweeping around the ground softly. Both ears were turned toward the pup.

His ice blue eyes were locked on the pup. He knew the pup would make a good addition to the pack. He felt an itch forming on his neck. He raised a hind leg and began kicking at the spot. The loose fur on the neck began jingling.

After a few mintes the itch vanished and he lowered his hing leg. He waited for the pup to respond.

His nose picked up the wonderful scents that came from him to the parking lot. The air smelled of rust and metallic aroma's. A gentle breeze fluttered over his back, ruffling patches of his ebony and tawny colored fur. He loved teh spring time it was his favorite time of year besides the winter. The pup was certainly determined and willing which pleased Dangle a lot.

Koda let out a sigh of relief when Dangle praised him for his answer. He was glad that he was thinking in the right state of mind. His heart slowed a little and a smile began to form on his mouth as he pricked his ears up, eager to hear the next question his Alpha would ask him. "Next question. If there is a threat to the pack, how would you handle it?" Koda thought for a moment but sat up straighter this time as he prepared to answer.
"I would gather up some of the guards and military and take them on a patrol to eliminate the threat but be sure to leave a few guards with the rest of the pack in case they are in danger as well." He answered, curiousity in his eyes as he looked up, waiting to see if he had gotten that question right as well.
His own tail wagged softly against the pavement floor beneath his paws and his light blue eyes shone with excitement at the thought of having the Alpha take an interest in him. Let alone teach him how to fight and protect his pack.

Dangle eyed the pup with admiration and was highly impressed.

"Very nice pup. I think you'll make a nice addition to the pack. Now for the actual training part. I will set up an imaginary scenario and will watch to see how you handle it" Dangle said as he began walking a few paces before he stopped and turned to look back at the pup waiting for him to follow him.


Dangle led him over to a old car and pretended that this was a member of the reaper pack.

"This is a member of the reaper pack. Show me what you would do to it" Dangle said to the pup and slowly planted his rump on the ground again and waited for the pup to make his move again.

The good thing about this pup was that he was willing to learn and seemed to be happy to please Dangle . Dangle puffed his chest out proudly as he watched the pup.

His dark fur blended in nicely with the shadows that stretched along the ground. Both ears were turned toward the pup, and listening around them incase there was someone lurking here that didn't belong. His mind went back to Nova. His whole body tingled again when he thought of the wonderful pleasure he and Nova had shared. He would most certainly do it again, hell every moment he could get. Dangle knew that she was pregnant and going to have pups. He couldn't wait himself to see the pups

Koda smiled and wagged his tail excitedly, glad that he had gotten the question right and such praise from the Alpha meant a great deal to him. Rising to his paws, the pup followed after the bigger dog before stopping in front of an old car.
"This is a member of the reaper pack. Show me what you would do to it" Listening intently to his instructions, a growl began to work it's way up into Koda's throat as he imagined the huge broken down heap of metal as a Reaper dog. Finally, he lept on top of it, clawing and bashing at it before jumping onto the ground and swiping at it. His paws struck the front headlight and shattered it and he once again leapt onto the hood and rammed into it some more, leaving a few decent sized dents in the top of it.
Finally satisfied with his work, he lept down and sat beside Dangle, glancing over at the Alpha and then looked back over at his work of art. The car was badly dented and a hunk of glass fell out of the front headlight that Koda had managed to bash in. The fender as well was scraped and busted up pretty bad and a smile crossed the pup's face. It quickly disappeared though as he turned his head to look up at Dangle once more, wondering if he would approve.

Dangle burst out laughing at the pup's response to his question. He made short work of the car, leaving it in dents and scratches and everything else.

"Very nice. I think you're ready to join" Dangle said in a pleased tone. He affectionately raised a forepaw and gently bopped the pup on the top of the head to show a 'pat'

"Come on young pup its time to meet the other pack members. I think you'll be quite happy here." he grinned at him broadly.

He was even beginning to become fond of this pup. He was anxious to see Nova, hoping their second breeding took. He had a feeling it did so he didn't worry much. But still he wanted to hear it from Nova herself otherwise he wouldn't relax until he was absolutely sure of it.

"So pup how do you feel about being a pack member now?" Dangle asked him eagerly and brightly, his tail slowly waving behind him as he waited for the pup to respond. He grinned at him and knew that he was making the right choice to make him part of the pack.

"I know you won't let me down" he said to the pup.

Koda grinned again when the alpha praised him for his work to the Reaper car. Rising to his paws, the young pup followed after the German Shepherd, walking beside him and doing his best to keep pace.
His dark ears pricked up when he heard Dangle speak. "So pup how do you feel about being a pack member now?" Nodding vigorously, Koda smiled even broader.
"You bet!" He replied happily.
A sudden thought put a damper on his mood though as soon as it came into his head. Would Dangle stop teaching him stuff now that he was a part of the pack? Had that all just been a test to see if he would make a good pack member? One couldn't be to surprised if it all had just been a test. After all, a pack was only as strong as it's weakest member and Koda was probably one of the weakest seeing as he was the youngest out of the pack so far.
A sigh escaped his jaws and his tail and head hung a little but he knew that he couldn't be for sure unless he asked Dangle and that was what he was going to do.
"Hey Dangle. . . are you uh. . . not gonna teach me anymore stuff. . . ya know. . . now that I'm in the pack. . .?" Koda asked, his light blue eyes filled with sadness as he looked up at the alpha male, hoping that he would still teach him to fight and everything else a successful Skeleton Pack dog would need to know.
