Blue
How can you see into my eyes like open doors? Leading you down into my core, Where I've become so numb. Without a soul, my spirit sleeping somewhere cold, Until you find it there and lead it back home...
.xXx. Winter had finally succeeded in taking the land over thoroughly, coating it in the soft, powdery substance that was snow. Blue walked forwards slowly, head aligned with her shoulders as she did so, excruciatingly blue eyes taking in the flawless scenery before her. Every surface was glazed over with snow, from the ground to the thick branches of the trees. A slight breeze whistled through the land, as she walked forwards, an essence of elegance about the way she moved. With ease, Blue exited the forest easily, padding onto the longer beach, a small trail of paw prints following after her. The snow sparkled as if thousands of diamonds were embedded into its core, wherever the sun touched, causing a small smile to come to Blue’s features as her eyes flickered about, eager to take in all she could. The ocean was completely iced over, freezing the water in place. Because of that, the soft sounds of waves crashing against the beach were no longer there to comfort Blue, though it didn’t bother her thoroughly. She was at ease with the lingering silence.
Blue was a wolf of complete detail. She would never cease to take in the small things about someone, or something until satisfied. She was mysterious, in the way that she would notice and gather things about someone else, all the while dropping not one hint of information about herself. It was the way Blue had been raised... The way in which she was able to make sure she was safe. Completely safe. However, Blue was always on edge. It was her nature, due to her past. Even in a silence like the current one, the female caught herself scanning the area, for any possible threats to her. She was tense, though looked completely relaxed, being skilled in deceiving others of her emotions. It was yet another trait she inherited, from her past.
Soon, the long dock came into view, and caused Blue’s curved, small, ears to swivel in the direction of the large structure. Her head jerked upright, and she ceased movement, taking a moment to simply observe the utter simplicity of the dock. Something about it seemed calming... But Blue was second guessing herself. There was only one way out there, and one way back. If she were to get into trouble... Blue shook herself of the negative thought. No, she would focus. She was sure there wouldn’t be anyone threatening, out there. And if there was, she would defend herself. She could hold her own, in a fight. She always had.
Slowly, Blue walked forwards, scanning the area with perfection, as she walked onto the large dock. There wasn’t a sound, aside from her breathing, and that in itself only put Blue on edge, further. She paused again, aligning her head with her shoulders to sniff at the ground briefly. There was a scent there... the scent of a dog. Blue’s instincts had been right, all along. The ebony she-wolf walked forwards gingerly, keeping her head low, as if to block access to her throat. It wasn’t a submissive stance, nor a completely dominant one, though. It was more a neutral posture. And Blue was all about being neutral. She would always wait to get vibes from her acquaintance, before reacting. Then, and only then, would she judge someone. At that moment, Blue heard a crow call out in the distance. Was that a reminder of its presence? Or a warning?
There was only one way to find out.

Aura had stumbled upon the snowy pier by chance. She was getting used to her surroundings when she spotted the tall, looming Ferris wheel. She quickened her pace at the sight of a new area in this seemingly dead city. Being careful not to slip on hidden black ice, Aura strolled cautiously onto the frozen planks of Pier 15. She took in all the sights of the abandoned pier - the forgotten game shops, the locked concession stands. A lonely balloon stand stood by itself near a trashcan - it's only companion. But what interested Aura the most was the Ferris wheel. These contraptions always had. Wouldn't the massive wheel just roll away when it started up? she wondered in her mind, not wanting to break the beautiful silence of winter with speech. Aura trotted up the the Ferris wheel and sniffed the air around it. The scents of rust and snow only entered her nose. Aura pushed her paws gently against the powdery snow and stood straight up like a human. She placed her paws on the side of one of the connected carts and peered inside. Just a torn, red leather seat and a icy buckle met her eyes. Her tail wagged nonetheless. This place must have been tons of fun! Without all the snow and ice, of course. Aura thought with a genuine chuckle. Her tongue hung happily out of the side of her maw in a sloppy grin. With her powerful legs, she leapt up the side of the closed-in cart and into the seat. It was stiff and cracked, but she didn't really care. Aura sat down in the middle of the cart and shut her eyes, imagining herself spinning through the air in a continuous circle. Everything was blurred and moving rapidly in her mental movie. Whoa... Not the best idea. Aura panted as she shook her head of the dizziness. She slunk down into the worn seat, outstretched her front legs, and rested her chin on her upper forelegs. Aura shut her eyes and waited for her dizzy head to clear. *** About 30 minutes later *** A cold gust awoke Aura from her nap. Her head shot up and she looked around her to see the oddly comforting and chilly metal sides of the Ferris car. Aura's quick jolt had caused the cart to shake, which scared a nearby bird. The crow squawked, jumped up into the air, and spread its wings. He was easily carried away by the winter wind. Aura ignored the bird and calmly laid her head back down. Still in a disgruntled daze, Aura picked up a scent and lifted her head. A wolf? she pondered, skeptic of her own thoughts. This only verified that Aura was acting different today - she was actually in a relatively happy mood. But if a visitor were to show up, that would surely change. "I must have been really dizzy," she quietly mumbled to herself. Aura rested her head on her forelegs again and shivered slightly. It was cold, but bearable. Only an unwanted annoyance could make things colder.

Blue
How can you see into my eyes like open doors? Leading you down into my core, Where I've become so numb. Without a soul, my spirit sleeping somewhere cold, Until you find it there and lead it back home...
.xXx. Even though Blue had been walking through the snow for days... It wasn’t possible for the female to lose interest, in it. Every corner she turned, every tree she passed, one he little walk to nowhere, she became amazed each and every time. It was really as if Blue had never seen snow before, though... Of course, she had. The female was experienced, but entirely open minded. She loved to simply think, and often lost herself to her thoughts. It was really her thoughts, that were Blue’s anchor. And sometimes, her weakness. The only reason Blue ever became afraid, would be because of her inner panics. However, she disguised these, easily. Weaknesses were not acceptable, when it came to Blue. They would get her found out. Killed, even. And Blue was determined not to let that happen. She had started over... And she intended to stay safe. Whatever that word meant, these days.
Blue’s small, lithe frame moved across the dock, head aligned with her shoulders, as she padded forwards, her eyes staying in front of her, creating a mental path for her to follow. Another thing about Blue-She always needed a plan. If she didn’t, there would be no escape. No safe place, to run off to. Not that Blue ran from strangers, of course. She simply avoided conflict. But, if it really came down for a fight... Blue was a wolf. And she had extremely good fighting skills, no matter how entirely small she was. Blue was extremely fast, and had the intelligence to outwit most. She took pride in the working of her mind, and Blue would never be one to doubt her intelligence.
After a few minutes, the ebony she-wolf had walked the path of the large dock, and was now exiting it, to emerge onto the beach, once more. She was closer to the city, this time, however. Blue immediately lowered her head further, ears swivelling around in alert. She was in a man-made place. Dogs usually roamed places, like these. And, hadn’t Blue scented one, before? It was at that second, another breeze blew through the area, causing the femme’s ebony fur to whip around momentarily. She inhaled, her chest expanding slightly, before exhaling, releasing her breath causing a slight puff of white vapour to cloud around her muzzle. Blue easily picked out the scent of the canines, and was surprised to find it was female. Blue was never an expert at getting along with females. She seemed to relax a little more, around males. Though, that was because they were far easier to manipulate.
Blue traced the scent towards the large wheel-like contraption, that was towering over the entire city. Her head tilted in slight curiousness, but soon, Blue lowered her head, and walked forwards again, her expression completely serious once more. She would never let another dog, especially a female, know how she was feeling. What she was thinking. That was simply too much for Blue to worry about. Therefore, as the wolf approached the Ferris wheel, her facial expression stayed unmoving. Blank, yet expression an era of silent knowing. Blue always seemed to know more than what one wanted her to know, and most of the time, she did. It’s was what Blue got, for paying attention to details. They were he specialty.
Slowly, the female made her way towards the big wheel, not one noise alerting the other canine of her arrival. It was at that second, as she got a few feet away from the wheel, that she heard the little movements, from the inside of one of the carts. Blue raised a brow curiously, and sat, looking up at the cart. She wondered briefly what type of dog the female was, or if she would be foul towards Blue, considering she was a wolf... But, she didn’t let that cause her to turn away.
“Hello?”
She asked slowly, her light voice soft and extremely feminine, though not nearly tender. Blue’s voice was never tender. Not unless she actually trusted the one she was speaking to. Now, unlike most of the wolves of this time, Blue didn’t have any hatred towards dogs. She would interact with them freely, as she wasn’t judgemental. Not to the least. Blue’s eyes flickered from the cart, towards the platform that others must of used to get onto the cart, before back to the area she would see the stranger, if she decided to look over the edge. Her expression was of slight questioning, though otherwise blank. Would this dog be any different?
Or just another foul soul, in this wretched city?
Without thought, without voice, without a soul, Don't let me die here. There must be something more, Bring me to life...

Aura thought she had heard steps in the snow, but she ignored it. No one would want to bother her - they would be too focused on their own personal matters in this chilly winter weather. Her fur bristled as the wind picked up again, blowing right up into the cart. Grunting softly, she adjusted her body so that her back was towards the wind and her face towards the back of the cart. Her medium length fur still whipped up against her back. The ripped and worn leather of the Ferris seat was extremely hard and cold, only making her attempt at rest less comfortable.
"Hello?" [/i] she heard. The faint voice pierced through the silence and slightly took her off guard. The female's word had come from the side of the cart, closer than 5 feet away. Debating in her mind what to do, Aura lifted her head as she lay. Could she be looking for trouble? What did she want? Obviously she wasn't angry, because her voice was very calm. With a long, drawn out, and silent sigh, Aura stiffly lifted her body up from the faded red seat. The Border then hoisted her front paws up onto the cold metal side of the cart and peered over the edge. Her claws made a clicking sound against the silver metal. A petite black she-wolf sat on the snow-covered pier, gazing up at her. Aura's amber orbs were burnished and glowing despite her grouchy mood as she looked down. "Hello," she barked to the wolf. Aura lowered herself from the side and disappeared from sight. The cart shook and swayed as Aura leapt into the bottom platform and back out onto the powdery pier. She rounded the small cart and stood before the canine. With a nod of the head, she let her muzzle curl up in a rare smile. This she-wolf didn't seem like a threat. Or was that just a decoy?
