Second star on the left straight on till morning stitch me up inside I lost my shadow I've got so much left to write My pages still left blank and white Beauty has killed the beast in me
The contaminated water lapped at the concrete, and the seagulls above cried for a meal that they won't ever receive from me. I smirked, and took a look at my fur to make sure it was clean. I'm gorgeous. I smiled, and let my tongue loll out to cool my body temperature. I sighed from loneliness, and padded around to try and find someone to speak with. The sun was high in the sky, and it burned down through my fur, and kissed the fair skin that lays beneath it. I looked up to the sun, my blue eyes searching for something more than a big ball of gas in space. I was looking for lost love, for what once was, what will be, and what always has been. The sun burned my eyes, and I looked down at my paws. I lifted my head, looking for a sign of shelter, but there was none in sight, so I laid down in the nearest patch of grass.

You can stand me up At the gates of Hell But I won't Back Down
Steel blue eyes eyes scanned the land before him as he marched along, looking for something to drink. Water was not the most abundant here but his nose could scent the bay that held the docks. Bay meant water and a few more days of surviving. Life was rough out here with the Skeleton Pack but it gave him room to roam without getting killed for it. The Alpha didn't seem to want much from him and Jasper was fine with that. He worked best alone. But alone, was not always better. He knew that. So he stuck around. It wasn't like he had much else in the way of places to go.
When he finally reached the docks, he gazed into the plagued waters and it seemed that he would not be getting his life water from here today. With a slight sigh, he moved back from the wooden structure and eyed the dog lay in the grass. Seeing as he didn't quite know the territory yet, he decided to ask the fae where the water was and be on his way. He had no other sue for her and no other reason to stay.
He approached her with head held high, ears as erect as they could be. "Hello. Where's the good water?"[/i No introductions. No niceties. Straight and to the point. That was just how Jasper was. Lifes a game and you gotta be willing to play the game. And right now the game was moving fast.

I was staring off into the distance, when a smell drifted into my nostrils from behind me. I rose, and spun around quickly, my hackles rose. When I saw who it was, my fur flattened, and I calmed down. I sat on my rump facing the male I now know is Jasper from the pack meeting, and let my pink tongue loll out. You scared the shit out of me. Try not to do that again, eh? I jokingly spoke the last sentence, and smiled. I know you from the pack meetings. Jasper, right? Well I'm Nova, if you don't remember. The good water? Don't we all want to know. It needs to rain soon, so we all can have some good water. But for now, I know a little spot beneath the trees over there I pointed to a batch of trees near the edge of the dock. in those trees. There's a slight ditch, but it's a miniature pond. There's fresh water in there. I smiled, hoping he would stay and talk to me for a while, as I was a bit lonely. I was a hard-headed female, but I'm not completely cold-hearted, and I would like some company every now and then.

It gently bobbed in the murky water, making it easy for her to relax to the soothing motion. The air was surprisingly quiet since all the seagulls had flocked to another area for the day. She sought the docks to rest from a day of exercise and running after prey but ended up falling asleep. The docks began creaking and rumbling under the slightest weight, which disturbed Aura's sleep. Groggily, she lifted up her head to stare straight into the sun. She jerked her head to the right from the sudden burst of sunlight, causing her to lose her balance and collapse against one of the windows of the simple, enclosed boat. That thud would surely alert whoever was on the docks. Aura could handle anyone that came her way, but an armed human would be a challenge.
She quickly pulled herself together, for whoever was walking on the docks would come over to investigate soon. The side of her muzzle slightly burned from the sun's rays beating down on her. Aura looked out towards the shore and noticed a slender figure laying in the choppy grass just in front of the docks. It looked like a statue as it stared across the dock. What was it staring at? she wondered curiously. The Border Collie gracefully leapt up onto the top of the boat and hopped onto the docks. She looked at the mysterious, small body with a faint smile, then turned her attention to whatever it was staring at. Aura nearly slipped off the dock when she saw Nova and Jasper, two of her fellow Skeleton members, talking with each other. The fur on her back stood up a little in surprise - Nova was the last dog she expected to be here. With a flick of the ears, Aura turned herself towards them, stood to her full height, and waited for their reactions.

i saw aura standing above a ditch, with her fur on end. i looked to jasper, with a worried look on my face, asking him to come with me. i stood, and my paws lightly kissing the ground as i raced to her side. she was growling at an orange fuzzy figure i knew from my past as a 'cat'. i looked to her, and giggled. it's just a cat. it's no harm to us, unless we bother it. i spoke kindly, knowing she didn't like me. my smiled disappeared from my face, as i remembered the fact that she didn't like me. i sighed, and sat down next to her. i wanted to know why she didn't like me, as the cat scampered off into the brush. i studied her for a moment, and began to speak. look aura, i know you don't like me, but i would like to know why. i spoke kindly, and understandingly. my eyebrows were scrunched together, showing i was concentrating. i believed my face was looking quite comical at the time, and i relaxed my face, waiting for a reply.

Nova spoke with a chuckle. Aura's head tilted in curiosity at the odd mood the Aussie had. She seemed happy. Her hatred towards Aura seemed to have disappeared. Aura shook out her fur and licked away a fly-away on her shoulder, only to look up to see Nova sitting beside her. What was she thinking? Instinctively, Aura curled up her lip to Nova to show her her teeth. But when the Australian Shepherd spoke kindly, she stopped herself. The Border looked over to Nova to see a friendly face. What is Nova playing at? I know she doesn't like me, Aura thought with a huff. Sensing no tension in the air around her, Aura momentarily relaxed her muscles and lowered her haunches to the docks. "You walk onto a scene with such arrogance, as if you've earned it. You treat everyone like they've wronged you. I don't understand how you can have such a strong hatred for everyone you come in contact with. And that's an understandment..." she barked out. There wasn't much else that she could say. The two were having a heart to heart right here on the Skeleton pack docks. Aura's ears twitched as the breeze hit them. She looked over to Nova and waited for her to defend herself. Before she spoke, Aura added, "Nova, you seem to have a particular disliking towards me. Why is that?" The Border Collie held the Aussie's gaze as she anticipated her reply.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
