The air seemed to wave and bend in the intense heat as Aura gazed at it. Her pink tongue lolled out the side of her mouth, covering her large ivory incisors. Aura began to pant as she stood out in the direct sunlight. Summer was definitely here. Aura glanced over her shoulder for a moment, then turned her nose towards the sky. She let out a low, beautiful, and short howl that bounced off the rusted train cars and old building. Her call was meant for anyone in earshot. The Border wanted some company for a change. Aura was in an unusually upbeat mood, so she let out another call that was higher pitched and slightly playful. With a bounce in her step, she trotted over to the shade of a train car and sat herself down on the cool sand. "Let's see who arrives," Aura softly sighed to herself. Ears perked and eyes narrowed, the Border Collie casually watched her surroundings and waited for anyone to show.
