A New Beginning (OPEN)

[Aura]

The sun beat down onto Aura's black and white pelt, warming her skin and fur as she trotted. She gracefully made her way towards her favorite spot. The Border examined her surroundings - the same old, beaten up cars, the same cracked pavement, the same junk - and smiled. This place was a wreck and she loved it.

The Skeleton parking lot was the place where she had met her good friend Swipe. The dingo was fierce and restless, just like Aura herself. So many memories resided in this place. Aura made her way to a familiar black SUV on cinderblocks and smoothly leapt up into the passengers seat. Her nose twitched with the fading scent of her friend. It's still here, she thought, her head tilting to one side. She grunted as she lowered herself onto the worn leather seat. Aura's forepaws flopped over the side of the seat and her head slowly lowered onto her legs. Her ears stood straight up so that she could hear if anyone was passing by or approaching. Aura decided to rest in the shade today, for she had been out in the heat all day scenting out prey to no avail. I'll go back out when it starts to get dark. The Border let out a long yawn, showing off her ivory incisors to the dashboard. She hoped that today would be a relaxing and calm day, but every second was unpredictable. Especially in Skeleton lands.

Kobe trotted through the parking lot, holding a limp squirrel in his maw. It was a good catch, plump in the summer, and he savored the sweet taste of blood in his mouth. He stepped around a large truck to lie in the shade, and dropped his prey. He yawned, and looked around the parking lot, surveying the area, before he turned back to eat. It was then that a movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention. He sniffed the air. A female. He hadn't scented her before because the smell of his prey had blocked his senses. He stood and watched her leap into an SUV a few yards away. The beauceron licked his fur down in the most ruffled places and picked up his squirrel. Looks were very important to him. He Lowered his head in a more relaxed position and moved toward her at a brisk pace. He reached the SUV and dropped the rodent on the ground. "Why hullo. What brings a pretty girl like you out to such an empty place?" His short cropped ears pricked up in interest and his dark eyes twinkled in the sun as he waited for the females answer.

[Aura]

Aura slowly lifted up her head when she heard shuffling. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw another canine carrying something in his jaws. He didn't seem to pose a threat, so she laid her head back down. The next second, this dog was speaking to her from outside the SUV. Aura quickly spun around, now on all fours, and gazed at this dog. Male. Clean-looking. One of her lips was curled up, but he wasn't looking for a fight, so she calmed herself and hopped out of the old vehicle. "What brings a pretty girl like you..." [/i] she heard him say. Aura tilted her head, a sly twinkle gleaming in her amber eyes. He was hitting on her.

I'll play along, she thought. "Hello. I'm just resting. Are you a Skeleton pack member?" she spoke smoothly as she began to walk along his side, examining him. Her slim frame gracefully made it's way long Kobe, waiting for his reply. Surely he must be stunned, so she would have to be patient.

Kobe just smiled as he saw the dogs eyes twinkle. She was obviously pleased. But really, what wasn't to like? Hello. I'm just resting. Are you a Skeleton pack member?" He heard her ask. "Why yes, I am of the Skeleton pack. You can call me Kobe," came his pleasant reply. He felt her soft fur move around his body. She was examining him, and he had no problem with that. He was a very handsome dog, so why would he worry? He returned the favor and checked her out. She was a slim female, with a pretty face. He liked her look, but then again, he liked a lot of females looks.Her long fur stopped brushing his and he looked into her Amber eyes with his own shining brown ones. His posture moved from total relaxation to pride and dominance. his medium length tail swayed and his back soaked up the sunlight. He opened his maw to ask a question. "Are you from Skeleton pack as well? I haven't seen you around. And I would love to know your name."

[Aura]

She saw Kobe's position change, and this made her curious. I wonder what's going through his mind. Aura had finally reached his front again, so she turned swiftly and planted herself down on the warm pavement. Her tail thumped happily on the road as she gazed at this male before her. She couldn't really decide if she liked him yet or not. Aura's eyes met Kobe's, and a shiver went through her. Those eyes could convince any female to do something that she never dreamed of doing.

The Border perked up her ears at Kobe's words and spoke, "Yes, I belong to the Skeleton pack. And my name is Aura." She grinned at him for a moment and shut her maw, twisting the smile into a seductive smirk. Aura had large teeth for a Border Collie, which benefited her greatly in battle. She was a fighter, and a fierce one at that. If she didn't hit it off with Kobe, he would surely find that out. Aura's panting began to increase. Was this from the summer heat, or from Kobe's looks? She chuckled to herself as she awaited his reply.

This is going to be easy. Thought Kobe as the female gave him a grin and her name. "Aura... That is a very pretty name. I like it." He said with a half smile. He had seen her shiver when they made eye contact. He padded a little away from her and noticed her panting harder. I knew it. He thought, chuckling to himself. He padded back o her and nudged up the squirrel he had brought with him toward Aura. "Are you hungry at all?" He asked. "I just caught this right before I was graced with your presence." His half smile became a full charming grin again, showing off his perfectly white teeth. Oh yeah, he took care of himself, especially his looks. His pink tongue lolled out of his masculine jaw line, and he looked into her eyes once more. He loved seeing females reactions to that. It was like the secret key to most of their hearts. His pointed ears perked up and he laughed. He had remembered something that made him laugh. The voice of his brothers friend echoed in his thoughts. "No female would like you, Kobe. You are just a dork. Let me and your brother handle that subject." He found this memory absolutely hilarious, because where were they? Kobe had wooed countless females, and his brothers rude friends had caught mange and left the city. "Yeah, right, let them handle it.. He muttered cheerfully under his breath.

[Aura]

"Why thank you. Your name is unique as well," she smiled back to him, a sense of seduction in her voice. Kobe thought he had her figured out already, but this was a sad mistake. No male would truly know this collie. She saw him thinking, recalling a distant memory, and tilted her head. It's probably better not to ask, she thought to herself. Aura happily gazed back into Kobe's eyes as he spoke. The male had offered her a meal, and she wasn't going to decline. "Only if you share it with me," the Border Collie barked with a wink. She scooted closer to Kobe and sniffed at the squirrel - fresh kill. With another flicker in her orbs, she glanced back up at Kobe. "What brings you here?" Aura asked, nudging her nose towards the rest of the parking lot in reference. She wanted to keep conversation with this male. She wasn't going to lie, he sparked her interest. Kobe was the first male who had, other than Dangle, the untouchable Skeleton pack leader. Aura could tell he was a player, but she liked to take risks. Who knows, maybe he'd commit for once. She lifted her head up to look at Kobe and waited for his reply with a smile.

Kobe Smiled as she complimented his name. He agreed to share the prey with her, and he took a bite of the delicious meat. He looked up as she asked him the question he had first asked. "Nothing really 'brings' me here, I was just wandering, looking for a place to eat." He laid down to eat, and while she ate next to him, h couldn't help but feel that there was more to figure out about this dog. Oh, well. He thought. I shouldn't have trouble with that anyways. He was care full to keep as much blood as possible off of his pelt and muzzle. It was a pain to clean, and besides, he was with a lady. He finished off his half of the squirrel and licked his chops. He was content, and the sun was shining on his black pelt, making it seem like a heat generator itself. He yawned and licked the fur on his chest down. "So how are you, Aura?" He asked. His stomach was full, he was warm, and he was with a female. What more could one ask for? He wanted the conversation to continue though, and so he awaited her answer.

[Aura]

Aura began munching on the squirrel, every other minute peeking up at Kobe. He had a good nose for scenting out prey. He's not just a pretty boy, she thought with a soft chuckle. She slowly sunk herself down onto her belly so that she was laying on the ground. Aura placed a paw gently on the squirrel's scrawny body as she bit into its shoulder. Her thoughts started wondering when she pictured herself and Kobe walking side by side. The heat must have been getting to her, for Aura rarely pictured herself with someone romantically. The Border looked up to Kobe when he spoke, and nodded casually at his question. Obviously he was interested, because he wanted to keep the conversation going.

Her ears pricked back and forth in a cute motion as she replied, "I'm pretty good, Kobe. Except for the fact that my friend has left Aregol City. I can't do much about it now though, can I?" Aura shrugged a little and nudged the carcass away. She couldn't help but feel lonely. Swipe was her first friend here and now she was gone. With a grunt, she rolled over on her side. The side of her muzzle touched Kobe's forepaw as she laid there lazily. Aura blinked a few times and looked up at Kobe, wondering what he would do. She flicked her ears again as she relaxed and waited for his response.

"I'm pretty good, Kobe. Except for the fact that my friend has left Aregol City. I can't do much about it now though, can I?" Kobe heard her ask. "I'd guess not." He replied. He felt her muzzle touch his paw, and he smiled softly. This was what life was about. He pushed the mangled piece of prey away from them and he sighed. His own muzzle leaned forward to touch her forehead for a few moments before he rested his head on the ground beside her. He yawned quietly, and closed his deep brown eyes for a few moments before falling into a slumber.

Kobe dreamed he was lying in the grass, a puppy again. His pudgy body got up and he shot over to his brother and his mean friend. Ha ha, look at little Kobe! they jeered. But he just smiled. His form grew from a baby to a handsome young adult in moments. The smile became the one that females far and wide knew as his. What now? he asked. Now I have everything and you have nothing. He wasn't talking to his brother, who faded out of his dream. It was his mangy friend that would be losing today. He let out a bit of a laugh, deep and resonating in the ever expanding world of his dream. He stepped toward the shivering mutt, and opened his jaws.

[Aura]

She had closed her eyes when he spoke - the sun was shining right in her eyes. The next moment, she felt his nose against her forehead. Her amber eyes quickly opened and looked up at him, not with anger or annoyance, but with warmth. Aura slowly closed her eyes again as Kobe laid down beside her. His company was nice and comforting, so she wiggled her way closer to him with her back touching his side. They must look like a mess, two dogs laying in direct sunlight just to lay there. The sun seemed to burn her exposed side, but she didn't mind it considering who she was next to. Who knew she could hit it off so well with someone within a matter of an hour or two?

Kobe had fallen asleep beside her and was obviously dreaming. He began grunting and growling and squinting his eyes. Aura slowly turned herself over onto her stomach and looked at Kobe curiously. What could he possibly be dreaming of? The Border Collie gently nudged him with her nose a couple times, whispering "Kobe... Kobe..." A few clouds had made their way across the sky and over the sun, temporarily cooling the two canines' bodies. Hopefully this weather change would bring Kobe to his senses. The curiosity was reaching it's highest peak as Aura watched her new friend.

Kobe woke the the sound of Auras voice. "Kobe... Kobe... She whispered. The air suddenly got very cool and he lifted his head, yawning hugely. It took him a few moments to remember where he was, and more importantly, who he was with. He perked his short cropped ears toward her. "Sorry, Aura. I must have dozed off... That happens a lot when I just ate and its warm." He said with a smile. He glanced up at the clouds floating lazily through the sky. "Do you like looking at the clouds? I do. That one looks kind of like that car you were in when I met you." His fore legs stretched out in front of him. "Speaking of you liking things, what do ya think of me?" He thought that this was perfect timing, since they had been together for a few hours already. He looked into her amber eyes, his own eyes sparkling in the sunlight, as he waited for a reply.

[Aura]

"Well, are you okay? You seemed to be having a dream... one that was troubling you," Aura said with some curiosity still implanted in her words. Kobe was smiling now, so she knew he must be better. Her tail couldn't help but wag in the air behind her. At his mention, Aura gazed up at the clouds as they rolled by. She began to look back further and with a thump and chuckle, she landed right into Kobe's shoulder. Aura made no intentions of moving unless Kobe found it uncomfortable. "Yeah... I guess I do," she barked. A soft smile stretched across her muzzle as she spoke. "What do you think of me?"

Those eyes again! Her ears flicked as she thought over her answer. For a split second, she wanted to blurt out "I like you a lot", but she refrained. Aura had just met this male and was already falling for him. Her maw slowly opened in a yawn, for she was still a little groggy from lazing in the sun. "I admit... I'm already feeling some emotion for you, Kobe," she smirked as she lifted her muzzle back to lap at his chin. She succeeded in licking his cheek a couple times. Aura lowered her muzzle down again, still smiling. What had come over her? She wasn't the rash, ruthless Border Collie she usually was. How foolish am I? she thought with a huff. Aura had let him nudge his way into her heart. And she had no intentions of letting him go.

Kobe smiled at her concern, not that he wasn't already smiling. It was just enhanced. "It wasn't troubling me, don't worry. Just a dream, right?" He said, laughing. He blinked as the the collie admitted feelings for him. H didn't try to push her off of his shoulder. His smile shrunk and became less humorous and more.. intimate. He felt her tongue on his chin and cheek. His body moved closer to her, and he returned the kiss, but on her muzzle instead of her cheek. He felt her slow breath and he drowsily rested his head on her shoulders. "Aura, what is you position in the pack?" He asked curiously. He was making small talk, and at the same time learning details about her life and habits. It was his way of getting into girls hearts. He smiled and continued to watch the white clouds drift lazily across the bright blue sky. He watched some birds chase each other as he awaited her reply.

His kiss was warm and full of emotion, something she had never felt before. "I guess so," she spoke in a lethargic tone. Kobe had somehow found a way to calm her fiery personality. She wasn't sure how he figured her out so quickly, but to be honest, she didn't mind. Aura surprisingly enjoyed his company and wanted him to know this. She had to keep her guard up though, for Kobe could have ill intentions. Even though they were cuddling together, she still had some doubt in her mind. What dog with a loveless past wouldn't? Her tail thumped against his back leg as he calmly barked, "What is your position in the pack?"

[/b] It didn't take Aura long to reply, for she knew her ranking in the Skeleton pack like it was the back of her paw. "I'm in the military. Hopefully I'll become military leader, but we'll see," she chuckled. She looked back to watch Kobe's facial expressions, a faint gleam in her amber eyes. "What's your ranking, Kobe?" she barked, genuine curiosity in her tone. For some reason, she yearned to know more about this handsome male. She desperately wanted to know him as more than a friend. First comes the simple stuff, then the more complicated questions arise. Hopefully, this would be soon. She eagerly awaited for his reply with perked ears.[/color][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]
