A crow cawed in the distance. Tegan walked, normal pace, beside Willow. Someone, she just met, but its like they knew each other forever. It was strange how well she clicked with Willow. Tegan smiled at her response.
For some reason, Tegan knew that Willow could be trusted. Teagan wanted to tell her, wanted her to know all about herself. Then, a thought crossed her mind. What if she didn't like her? Tegan was not perfect, not even close. She had a dirty passed. And, there was one more thought that raced through her head. Ho was she going to tell her that she was gay?
Tegan has lost countless friends from coming out. She didn't really do it much. Maybe she could leave that part out.. No, that's who she is. She would come up with something.
"I promise" Tegan replied, and she smiled sweetly.
She really wanted to hear Willow's story. She set her ears to listen.

The reassurance of Tegan's promise made willow relax and truly know that she could trust Tegan; though telling of this story was not going to be easy by any means. No, it would bring up rough memories that Willow had fought so hard to repress but something inside told her that the longer the hid them away, the longer they would own her and cause her pain.
Taking a deep breath and focusing on the trees ahead, Willow began the tale of her saga. "When I was oung, I discovered that i was very much different from the other girls."

[/i] Willow began, telling it as truthfully as she could. "I wasn't interested in the boys and when they found that out...that's just say it wasn't pleasant...I've spent most of my life being pushed from pack to pack and really just abused. And that's how I ended up here. I hung out with a bunch of the Vexis dogs, caring for them and they accepted me. It's sad to see them go but at least I know that I help them before they go."[/i] Willow finished with a glance up at Tegan. She hoped that she hadn't over shared and scared Tegan off. She didn't think she could survive if Tegan rejected her like all the rest had.

Tegan could tell that Willow was happy she accepted. They walked at a normal pace, the burnt forest floor was warm from the summers day. Tegans eyes scanned right to left, not left to right, like normally. Only because she wanted to end her gaze looking at Willow, who was on her left. Willow took a breath be for starting her tale.
Listening was something Tegan was good at. She enjoyed hearing other peoples stories. Willow began and Tegan took in every single word. Willow didn't look at Tegan as she spoke, and Tegan could tell that it was hard for her to just spill all. So Tegan was polite, didn't interrupt. Just nodded along with her as she spoke.
Wait...
Did she just say "i wasn't interested in the boys"?Tegans eyes widened. Could she be saying... no..... she couldn't.
Tegan listed more.
Its true. Willow was on the girl team!
Tegan was in a bit of shock. She had only met one other lesbian dog. Elora.
Tegans heart sank a bit as she remembered Elora, but she shook it off and listened to the end of Willows tale.
When the story was told, Willow looked up at Tegan. She wiped the surprise off her face and smiled. She knew Willow expected her to reject and abandon her, as everyone else had. but Tegan just smiled and began her own tale.
"I once had a family. a mom and 2 brothers. My first brother died because of our living conditions. I don't remember him. My mother was killed shortly after." She looked down. "Me and my brother Focus never talked after my mom died." she didn't know if continuing would be a good idea. Then she remembered the truth in Willows eyes, and she did.
"I fell in love." She looked up. "Elora was more then i could ever imagine. We were young, and stupid. we ran off together. We tried to look for a pack to join, but no one would take two very different dogs. We looked everywhere, and on one of our trips for hunting, Elora was killed by a small gang of angry dogs. I managed to escape and such. But i lost so much on my journeys and now, i just don't know.." she shook her head.
She looked at Willow and smiled "I guess we're both pretty much on the same page. Shunned and abandoned" her voice was husky and deep. Her blue gaze searched for something in Willows big brown orbs.

Hot air rippled Willow's coat as it blew through the dead trees. The summer was still how as she finished her tale. Something about telling it made Willow seem a little lighter. Like a burden was carried off of her shoulders and set free into the wind like a bird. There is went, flying away on the same breeze that ruffled her coat. She watched it go without an afterthought and no pangs of sorrow. She was set free.
As she listened to Tegan's tale, Willow knew that the two of them had been destined to meet each other, if you believe in that stuff, but Willow did. She felt a connection to Tegan like she never had to anyone else, and she cherished that. As she finished, she reached out and licked Tegan's muzzle tenderly, nuzzling her. "Yea. I guess we are."

Thoughts rushed through Tegans head. Had she said to much? She wanted to read Willows thought, just to make sure she knew what would happen, she hated suspense. She got a bit of anxiety. Her ears flattened. Then, Willow reached out and licked her muzzle.
Tegans heart sunk, and butterflies ripped through her stomach when Willow nuzzled her. "Yea. I guess we are" Her words swayed through Tegans ears. they were sweet, and caring. Tegan nuzzled willow closely, sniffing in her sweet sent. Tegans life was tragic sure, but none of it matters right now. In this place. Right here. With Willow.
Have you ever heard of Love at first sight? Well Tegan never thought it was true, until now. Falling wasn't something Tegan was good at, this might be a rough ride. But again, all those thoughts wisped away almost as fast as they had come. The feeling of Willow right beside her, touching her. Everything washed away.
Tegan turned and licked Willows muzzle before stepping back and looking at her.
"I never thought i would meet someone like you." She said, blushing, head down, blue eyes looking up at the lovely retriever.
