Sylvester padded through the hottest place in her world. She liked it here, where her insanity could relax and she could have real thought. The silence and heat actually didn't bother her. Her nerves didnt feel pain as they used to. The disease had ravaged her body, and that combined with her infestation of parasites made her skin thick, scarred and covered in scabs. She continued along her path in a haze of insanity, and soon her mind wandered. Her thoughts eventually focused on one thing. The Vexis pack. Someone had finally pulled the wandering dogs ridden with disease together. Fester puffed her chest, remembering that she was "Shadow of the Night". Well, that was just a fancy name for Head Assasin. She was very proud, and could hardly wait for her first mission. She loved to mess with victims heads, and she salivated just at the thought. Her thoughts were cut short when she thought she heard something. Her ears shot up and she scanned the barren wasteland for the origin, hoping for a piece of prey or a dog to manipulate..

So don't be scared, Though yesterday no one cared.
Hot. Why was it always so hot around here? The large German Shepherd mix shook her head as if trying to fling the question out of her mind. She may not have known much but she did know when the heat was far too intense for her own body.
Her thick fur did little for the mongrel during the summer, just keeping in the warmth and heat of the day to cause her even more discomfort than to what she was already going through. Her legs and paws ached as she took a moment to bite at her left foreleg, leaving another open sore in its wake. She whimpered a bit as she carried on, trudging forward, her tongue lolling out of her mouth as she panted to try and stay cool, or at least, alive. The mutt's large, fluffy tail swished back and forth as she padded through this dessert like terrain. There was barely anything here, nothing truly worth staying for.
Yogi's mind wandered back to only a couple days ago when she had met her first true friend of the Vexis canines and also how she had seen him fall asleep, never to awaken again. Cannon's death confused Yogi as she could never understand it nor incorporate it into words she could comprehend. Her chocolate brown eyes scanned the lands in front of her.
A shadow loomed in the distance, that is, if it wasn't really a mirage. It looked like a fox. 'Cannon?' Yogi thought. No, this fox was actually red, or reddish. The female's tail wagged at the sight of a new potential friend.
"Hi there," she began. A simple but effective way to start a conversation was always with a greeting, at least, that was what her older brother, Argos, had always taught her. "I'm Yogi." The canine padded right up to the fox, a friendly smile plastered across her face and her tail wagging vigorously.
The next thing she had asked was not necessarily what it seemed to be when heard by another. The question should sound as "Who are you?" but Yogi, being the mutt that she was, asked a somewhat different question. "What are you?"

Sylvester had been a little disappointed when she saw the dog walking towards her. It was obviously a Vexis dog, and Sylvester had been hoping for a victim to mess with. She was also quite surprised when the dog immediately greeted her with "Hi there. I'm Yogi." and even more so when Yogi asked what she was. "I am Fester, the Shadow of the Night." She wasn't usually one to brag, but this was great. She stretched the whole length of her spine, and stood back up, shaking her patches of still red fur. The heat of the day beat on her back, but she was used to it, and it felt normal. Looking back at Yogi with her white eyes, she sneered and said "I'm sorry, but you didn't happen to tell me what you are, and it seems rude to ask a question like that without answering it yourself." She was using her abilities, but not really trying to. She really was just refreshing herself from a long bit of silence.

"I'm sorry, but you didn't happen to tell me what you are, and it seems rude to ask a question like that without answering it yourself."
Yogi's head tilted slightly to the left in this objection to her question. Hadn't this fox already answered it? "Fester Shadow of the Night", wasn't that her answer? It was her name of course, or was it? The mutt's mind spun in circles as she tried to clear her head. A look of pure confusion plastered itself upon her features and she appeared to be at a loss for words. With only a few seconds of silence and confusion the mutt turned her expressions into that of the "dumb dog" once again. Her smile was genuine and friendly and her tail swung happily from side to side as she found an answer to the fox's response. "I'm Yogi," she said gladly, her eyes at a squint not only from being blinded out by the intense sun but also from her look of pure joy that was splattered upon her face.
The mutt turned her attention to the ground that lie right beneath her. She studied it for a few seconds and moved her paws anxiously back and forth before planting her rump upon its hot, sturdy surface. Her long, fluffy tail sweeping back and forth among the dirt and bringing up puffs and clouds of dust.
She looked at Fester, still smiling, her ears perched forward, and waited for her to say something. Yogi never was much of a conversation starter.

Yogi looked confused, and then she repeated, "I'm Yogi!". Sylvester was a little bewildered. This dog didn't seem to be very smart. "You already said that. So that is who you are," Fester replied coldly, "But what are you?" She stared at the dog, who still had a grin plastered across her face. She wondered if the heat was getting to the other dog, or even herself. Shaking the thought away, she looked at the dog, who hadn't answered yet. Yogis light clored fur almost blended into the landscape. Maybe she is a hunter, but then what is she doing here. There is less prey here than anywhere else in our territory. She blinked her milky white eyes, and her pupils stood out against the white. Her ears twisted around, searching for the sound of anything. A vulture circled overhead, expecting the two dogs to die of the heat. Fester barked up at it. She wasn't going to die of heat anytime soon. She was used to scorching sand and the sun beating down on her back through cloudless skies. Heck, she even liked it. Thats why she was here in the first place.

So don't be scared, Though yesterday no one cared. "You already said that. So that is who you are, but what are you?" The fox stated coldly.
Yogi's face grew to that of one of bewilderment and confusion. Her brain hurt from all this thoughtful thinking and processing, this fox was obviously testing her wits. Or maybe not, maybe she was just being straight up with the female, something not seen often by those who she had come to call her friends, a.k.a. everyone the German Shepherd had met.
The mutt squinted her eyes from the impending heat of the lingering sun and her eyes began to grow glazed over from her inattentiveness. Both of the chocolate colored orbs grew out of focus as she began to grow lost in her own little world. This was her safe place, a place where no one could ask her confusing questions nor refuse her any help the poor mongrel desired, which was a lot of help. Her long, lean legs began to wobble from the sudden lack of energy she was experiencing but, none the less a large grin grew on her unfocused features and her fluffy tail began to wag back and forth slowly before...PLOP.
Yogi had fallen over onto her side from her lack of concentration and balance. Her ears instantly shot upwards and her face grew attentive once again as she looked at Fester.
"What?" she asked, not entirely sure that the fox had even asked her a question or said anything at all for that matter. Her face - which had grown a concerned expression as she had felt the sharp pain of falling onto the hard ground - formed into her common smile and her tail thumped against the ground.

Sylvester was very bewildered. this dog was... special, she thought. When she had repeated her question, the dog seemed to leave her body, and the she just fell over. Sitting back up, she had asked What?[/b] Fester shook her head. "Let me make this easier for you. What is your rank in the pack?" She asked slowly, drawing out her word in sugar coated sweetness as if talking to something with the smallest amount of brain possible. Her milky eyes narrowed as the sun moved slowly into her vision. In the position she was sitting, that meant the day was going to turn to night in a few hours. She made plans in her head to go to Simmer Point after this conversation came t a close. Her jet black pupils shrank in the bright light, and it gave the effect that she had no pupils at all. She gazed at Yogi, but Yogi would not be able to tell where she was looking. Fester pulled her lips over her teeth in an eerie smile. This dog was too easy.

So don't be scared, Though yesterday no one cared. Yogi's eyes brightened immediately after the simple word "easy" reached her ears. She liked simple things, ideas, terms, you name it, if it was easy she liked it. The large female listened to the fox's question. What was her rank? The mongrel's expression shifted to that of one in deep thought as she concentrated on finding her answer. Her gaze shifted downwards towards the ground as she tried to bring the answer to the surface, her mind gearing and grinding as it searched through its files of her life.
Her dark ears perked up as she figured out the answer after only a few moments of thoughtful thinking. "I'm an omega," she stated, somewhat proudly. Not necessarily proud of the position she held within the pack but more so proud of herself having the capacity and ability to figure out her honest answer. Her yellow colored tail swished lightly on the ground and her eyes formed a sudden curiosity within them. "What's your rank?" she asked, inching forward a bit with obvious interest.

Sylvester waited for the yellow dogs answer. She watched Yogis face twist with concentration, finally answering Festers question. I should have known.. Omega. Sylvester violently scratched her shoulder. The skin there was thick and scarred from her constant scratching. The hot summer sun lightened the red fur on her body to a dull orange. She watched the dog with fascination Yogi actually looked proud when she said "Omega." How could you be proud of something like that? That was one of the lowest positions of any pack. Fester watched the dogs expression change to curiosity, and suddenly, it asked What's your rank? [/b] Sylvester blinked. Now her face twisted, but in confusion. "I already told you.. Shadow of the Night. Thats head assassin." As she said the word assassin, her face twisted into an evil sneer, showing her sharp yellowed teeth in a creepy and insane smile. Her tail swished side to side as a scene of killing flashed through her mind. Her claws dug into the ground as she imagined the smell of blood, and the screams of her victims. She snapped out of her day dream and looked back at Yogi. [/blockquote][/size]

[/i] "Oh," Yogi replied, nodding her head pretending to know what an assassin was. Saying her position has made Fester smirk. Even looking slightly insane and somewhat creepy it was a smile none-the-less and caused Yogi to smile wider in return. The fox's expression seemed to show that of one who may be daydreaming or unfocused, Yogi noticed the small canine's claws begin to dig into the ground just before she had turned her attention back towards the mongrel. The German Shepherd realized her face had shifted into one of awe with her jaw dropped as her mind had become blank. Seeing the fox turn her attention back towards her, Yogi smiled again. The heat seemed to intensify, burning into the mutt's sandy colored coat. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth as she climbed to her full height. Looking at Fester her eyes grew to those filled with surprise and a bit of fear. "Fester!" she exclaimed, "You got big!"Of course, this was only the illusion that had formed from the fox appearing to be about the same height as Yogi while the canine had been lying down. As the mongrel stood to her feet it gave her the impression that the fox had actually shrunk. [/blockquote][/blockquote] They're getting your place prepared, Where you want to be. Sylvester blinked her milky eyes again, the sun was going down, and the night was coming. She glanced at Yogis even wider smile. Fester heard the yellow dogs remark. Fester! You got big! [/b] This dog was crazy, even for her. Her lost eyes narrowed in the darkening sun. Her mind was far away, a sudden flashback about her brother in her mind. Her creepy grin faded from her mangy and scarred face, and became an expression of sadness and terror, slowly changing to anger. She had thought of the wolves. The wolves should die. They were all that was wrong with the world, and if they didn't exist, Fester was sure she would be happy. Her flashback had filled her mind, and she saw Yogi standing before her. Yogi was a wolf in her vision. She suddenly leaped at the unsuspecting innocent dog, sinking her razor-sharp teeth into her shoulder. The crazed fox stopped. She could taste Yogis blood in her mouth, and she blinked. She had never done that before... She looked up at the surprised yellow dog. "I... I apologize. I thought you were a... Wolf... She drew out the last word, with venom almost palpably oozing from the short syllable. She was actually really sorry. She hadn't meant to do that, and her mind moved back to the waning light. "We should probably go somewhere else... It gets freezing at night out here." The ashamed fox pointed her once beautiful muzzle toward the edge of the maw, and then back at Yogi. She waited for an answer.. Or a goodbye.[/blockquote][/size]
