Zelda and Link long ago vanquished the evil that was Ganondorf, and since then Hyrule has been peaceful. For more than a hundred years, all races throughout the land have lived in relative harmony, with no true darkness in their hearts...
This golden age, however, is at an end. Some citizens of Hyrule are not aware of it, but many can tell that a foreign evil is invading the land, a force so horrid that it is second to none. No hero has been prophecized, the Triforce is nowhere to be found, and most don't even know that a battle of this size is brewing.
Fish are dying in the Zora River; Dodongos have begun to return to the cavern that is vital to the Gorons' lives; the Kokiri children are growing scared of the Woods that is meant to protect them. The Temples serve as host to a slew of monsters that have infested them entirely, and fearful citizens find there is little that can be done.
As the darkness grows nearer, people will have to take sides; that is one thing that is for certain. Hyrule has never been and never will be a land for the weak of heart. Under the sea, on the land, and atop the mountains; after the final battle, nothing will be the same.
