In recent months the people of Soare have been placed under more stress than they have ever known - more stress, even, than when the takeover of the ten foreign deities took place nearly a hundred years ago. With those gods having since fallen, the three countries - Ashoka, Morrim, and Soto - have been left to govern themselves. Until recently.
Just weeks ago Andromalius, or Grandmaster Andromalius the Wicked, as he prefers to be called, abdicated his position as the Emperor of Morrim. Having usurped Morrim from its Empress, who is now presumed to be dead, conquered Ashoka in a single day, and begun his descent on Soto, all of Soare has been left in a state of confusion. Morrim, adopting a stronger and highly enforced policy of isolation, has withdrawn into itself, fighting to quell the civil war that is threatening to break out between the feudal lords and the serf and peasant classes over how the country should be run, seeking a new Empress, and trying to repair the damage both physically and financially done to the nation-state during the Emperor's reign. Ashoka and Soto have both faired much better, the former shifting its command to the Governor, Orion de Lacey, while Soto's guilds disperse, returning to the lives they had known before Andromalius' coming. Soto is wary, however, eyeing Morrim carefully.
Now, with Morrim falling apart and Ashoka slowly being rebuilt, the world is holding its breath.
