Koda sighed sadly as he let the proud and strong look slide from his features and be replaced by a sad look of loss and loneliness. Slowly he lowered his body to the ground, letting her curl up around him, enjoying the warmth of her body. It reminded him of his mother and something inside him snapped and he began to whimper softly and a tear rolled down his cheek. Ever since his parents had died, he had been holding everything inside and now, curled up next to Zaira, he felt safe. He felt like he didn't have to hide anymore. Like he could face the truth and start to get over it and move on. Koda buried his face in her fur, trying to hide the tears that continued to flow though his soft whimpers could still be heard. He lifted his head as he heard her speak, telling him about her parents and what she had gone through.
Sniffing, he looked up at her with his light blue eyes, listening to her last statement before giving her a small reassuring smile.
"I'd never think you were weak." He replied, his voice soft.
His gaze shifted to look at his before he turned his head to look at her once more, giving her a quick lick on the cheek before laying his head down on one of her front legs. Finally his sobs slowed down and then eventually stopped and he let out a shaky sigh, but now his mind seemed to be at peace. He didn't feel like he couldn't talk about his parents anymore. He could move on from their death and accept what had happened. And it was all thanks to Zaira.

[WHISPER;]

she licked his shoulder as he buried his face in her fur. she frowned when his whimpering started. bringing her tail gently over his shoulder she caressed his side with it, sliding it up and down his side, trying to soothe him. she licked his ear and then his cheek. she smiled when he spoke, his words were kind and his voice was reassuring. she blinked in thanks as he licked her cheek. her brown eyes followed him as he laid his head on her leg and his whimpering stopped. he sighed and grew quiet. she continued to bring her tail over his back, gently caressing him. she licked between his ears and began humming, she had a wonderful singing voice but she didn't sing much, especially in front of other dogs. so she simply hummed, making up a tune as she went along. then, like a light bulb lit up over her head she smiled widely. "hey Koda, what do you think about me becoming a nurse? i would love to be a hunter but i don't really want to kill other dogs, or do Dangle's dirty work. maybe that would be better for me. or a teacher of sorts."

The feel of her stroking his back and giving him reassuring licks helped him feel a lot calmer and more relaxed than he had felt in a long time. His eyes drooped closed for a few moments and he listened to her hum to him, a very soothing melody that made him want to fall asleep. Her voice made him wake up some more and he raised his head as he listened to her idea. It did sound like a good one. In the short time that he had known her for, she had definitely made him feel safe and secure and had taught him a lot in just a short amount of time.
"That sounds like a great idea! I mean, you are really good at it." He replied, giving her a reassuring grin.
She made him feel like he was back with his mom and dad again, their small but happy family. And yet in only a few short moments it had all been ripped away from him. But Koda was happy and lucky that he had met Zaira for she was a very caring dog who had helped him feel for the loss of his parents and move past it and for that he was greatful and always would be.

[WHISPER;]

she smiled," thanks kiddo." she nudged his shoulder lightly with her muzzle and laughed. "i could be both. i'd just have to talk to Dangle." she grimaced for a moment, he kinda scared her. he was so easily angered and he exiled dogs like he flicked flies from his back. she twitched her nose and smiled at Koda again. she felt like a mother and it made her long for her own pups, although she knew she was definitely not ready for that. every female longs for pups, don't they? she pushed the thought out of her mind. she didn't need to be thinking about that right now. because as much as Koda would deny it, he needed her now. she would treat him as if she was her own pup. she smiled and began humming again, hoping to put him to sleep soon. she paused to yawn and then continued, her eyelids drooping.

Koda smiled up at Zaira as he listened to her once more. It was true, she would make a really good nurse/teacher. And he was glad she was in the same pack as him so that way he would get to see her a lot more now that they were friends and all. Somehow though, she seemed to be more of an adoptive mother and a teacher than a friend. In the short time they had gotten to know each other, it felt like they had known each other for so much longer than just a few hours. The sun had now completely set in the sky and the stars were shining above them, the moon was dim tonight which made the graveyard seem calm and peaceful. When Zaira yawned, Koda automatically felt a yawn stretch his jaws wide and once again he laid his head down on her front leg, his light blue eyes beginning to droop once more.
He tried to fight the sleepiness that was washing over him but he just couldn't do it. Finally sleep took him and he began to dream, his breathing slowing and a deep sigh escaping his small frame.

ooc: Perhaps we could make a new one and see if we can get someone else to join us as well. That would make things a little more interesting. =]
