Duke
The secret side of me, I never let you see, I keep it caged but I can't control it. So stay away from me, the beast is ugly, I feel the rage and I just can't hold it...
.xXx. It was certainly about time to have a Pack Meeting. It had been weeks since Duke had become the new alpha, and he’d put the needed event off time and time again. So, he was finally forcing himself to rally his pack mates, and get a look at what he was dealing with, number wise. There’d already been one female that had left, proving herself a traitor, and Duke would have to inform his pack of such things. He would also be assigning ranks to them. Simple enough, correct? For most, certainly. For Duke... It could be a little bit of a problem. Why, might you ask?
Old instincts died hard.
Duke usually dealt with crowds well, this much was true. However, in the middle of breeding season, when his pack was mostly made up of females... That could take a little effort. The Doberman would have to keep himself under check constantly, and attempt to control his masculine instincts. This usually proved very, very difficult. However, it wouldn’t be good if such things should go wrong. So, Duke had come to the conclusion it was best to force himself to behave. For the most part.
The Doberman made his way towards one of the few buildings on the property, his legs propelling him forwards in a quick jog. He lowered his head to align instinctively with his shoulders, before his speed quickened, and he was brought closer and closer to the barn. Duke figured if he was somewhat worked, then the females wouldn’t have such an... intoxicating effect on him. At hat thought, a larger log came into view, causing Duke to fold his front legs in perfect timing as his back legs shot him from the ground. Paws reached out to land on the ground sturdily, and Duke continued on his way towards the older building. A barn was a good place to have a group of dogs... It was large and quite open. Good enough, for Duke.
As he approached the large barn the Doberman slowed down and shook himself, freeing his body of any sweat clinging to his scarred pelt. He hopped up onto the first step and heaved a breath, before tipping up his skull to exhale in one, loud, unwavering, very masculine howl. It was a dog’s howl, and therefore sounded deeper than that of a wolf, although it got the point across. Once Duke finished, he let out another few, shorter barks, as if urging his pack members to hurry along. He didn’t have all day. Well, to be honest, he did. But that definitely didn’t mean he would spend the day waiting. No, that was simply... Unacceptable. Such things would not be tolerated.
Slowly, Duke dragged his gaze to the horizon, expression one of complete seriousness. To most he may have come off as a harsh dog, one that would stop at nothing to get what he wanted. Someone of power. And to be perfectly honest, this was all true. Although, Duke would warm up, once his group of followers arrived. They wouldn’t see the dangerously violent side of him, nor would they see the ‘nice’ side so many believed he had. Because truth was... He didn’t. And if Duke was nice at all, ever, it was fake. But, not everyone knew this. Some thought he was a genuine gentleman.
Oh, what fools.
I feel it deep within, it's just beneath the skin, I must confess that I feel like a monster. I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun, I must confess that I feel like a monster...
Words: 652 Muse: Horrible Notes: I honestly just wanted to get this thread up and running, 'cause it was needed. Excuse my slight fail of a post. xD

Blythe A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate The Bernese Mountain Dog cranes her head with a soft grimace. Bossman's not too happy.. She muses to herself, although giving no indication as to why she is thinking this. After all, his tone speaks volumes. Whelp..time to go! With this in mind, she starts off on an easy gait towards the direction of the boss's howl. No doubt, he's getting impatient. Time to make my presence known.. She giggles momentarily at the thought and stops abruptly to release several, sharp barks of her own. Then she's rollin' again. The soft sounds of scuttling prey reaches her ears, but she forces herself to ignore instinct, which would be to hunt them down. Ignore the urge. Meeting first, food later. She scans the horizon briefly, trying to locate the Doberman. To no such luck. Whelp..better keep moving. A loud yawn permeates past her lips. Her gait quickens until she's only seen as a blur of brown, black, and white. She skids to a halt and inhales deeply. Joy..I'll be the first one besides the boss..oh well. She finally moves again and breaks through the barrier that separates her from seeing the Doberman over the horizon. She slows to a halt before the Doberman. "You called?" She drawls calmly, gazing up at him with dark eyes. Every few moments or so, she'll shift her paws to adjust her weight. She stretches her lips wide in a yawn. She's not bored, per say. Just tired.

Old, shaggy feet brought the old dog from the outer lands at last as word had finally reached him that the pack was gathering. He had traveled for days for the meeting and the journey had been long and arduous. Sores had formed under the 11 year old's pads and they were raw, filling with dirt and bacteria. He had to lay down and clean them every so often. Infection was not the way this old dog wanted to die.
As Miloh walked into the farm, the old dog lowered his head to his alpha. The young dog was a fine dog and Miloh was proud to serve him in whatever way he could, though it was no longer much. Age had all but crippled this dog and Miloh was now having to give into it. Grey fur now was starting to come in to a once beautiful coat and he was thinning. The blindness in his left eye was now visible and his right was going as well. The world was cloudy and nearly dark now. Miloh knew he did not have long to live and he wished to make the best of what life he had left.
"Greetings my Alpha. You look well." he said kindly. Never in his life had their been a mean bone in his body. neither old age nor hardship had ever brought this old boy down. Despite his being unable to see, he hoped his nose had not betrayed him and that he was in fact speaking to his Alpha.
Mood:: Awww Words:: too lazy to count Other:: Miloh will be gone shortly after this. If anyone wants to do a thread before his death, or be in his farewell thread, please PM me.
My dog, Riley will probably not make it to this meeting. She is currently having her pups in the out lands. could someone please relay that to Duke?

Tetyana stepped lightly as she made her way towards the barn. The call of her leader signaling the long awaited pack meeting. Now it was time to put on her game face and see what her fellow pack mates had up their sleeves. White paws slapped the pavement slowly as she made her way into the building. She licked her black lined lips and plastered a smile onto her jawls. Not a big one, but almost a cocky one, she kept herself alert, and her ears pricked.Slowly walking into the barn she saw only three others. Tabboo had yet to show. She wondered where her only pack friend might be hiding out. She felt a little uncomfortable knowing none of the faces except her pack leaders.
A soft sigh escaped her lips but she kept up her smile and made her way to the front. Dipping her blue, brown and white head to her leader, "Duke. A pleasure to see you again" she let her words ring out in the air around them, velvety like a soft carress. She smiled at him before backing away, she kept her tail clamped close to her body, before turning around and taking a seat near the middle of the barn, a somewhat safe distance away from the brute leader. She was in season and she certainly didnt need to end up being his eye of attention right now. So she kept to herself after greeting him. She began to clean herself, occupying time. Even though her pelt was in perfect order the australian shepherd kept grooming herself, not looking at any of the other dogs gathering before Duke.

I padded into the barn for the pack meeting, see those who have gathered, and flashed everyone a great smile. Everyone in the pack was really kindhearted, and I enjoyed the company of them all. I saw the pups of Ruby, and I smiled kindly at her. What beautiful pups you have there! Will they be visiting the pup sitter anytime soon? They're adorable Ruby. I bowed down to their level, and smiled at them, and rose to look towards Duke. I looked back to the pups, and told them I'd see them sometime soon. I looked towards Duke, and took a seat next to Miloh. You called, Duke? I thought of the glorious howl that dragged me here, and I smiled. This pack was my life, and I loved everyone in it. the smell of females in heat overpowered my train of thought. Oh how it stunk. Though I was in heat too, I didn't understand how the males were keeping their cool? It humored me a bit, and I smiled again. I was in a great mood, and I was with my pack. The pack always makes me happy, and I love every member in their own special way.

a small frame came into view. her muscles flexed under her black and brown coat as she ran. her pink tongue lolled out the side of her mouth. her dark brown eyes rested on duke and she smiled flirtatiously. she slowed and walked over to the alpha," greetings duke, you called?" her voice was seductive and soothing. her eyes twinkled and she settled down beside a large female, a bernese mountain dog. she nodded a hello but didn't say anything, she didn't look very happy. kimi didn't know anyone yet really. she had just joined and not been around, exploring mostly. she was hoping to find someone that she could talk to, talking was all she needed at this point. she could take it from there to see if she wanted a friend or not. she sat patiently waiting for duke to begin.

I found a rotting tree and made my den inside the hallow inside. It took me forever to make it comfortable for my liking. I made sure not to bring attention to my sleeping spot. I always pulled brambles and thorns in front of the somewhat tiny hole of my den.
My ears pricked suddenly, awaking me from my slumber. "Must be Duke," I said with a yawn. I sat up and shook the two clumps of moss that clung to my pelt. Carefully I moved the brambles and thorns out away from my entrance to let my self out. After I let myself out I pushed them back up against the tree. "Thank the stars The bramble bush and thorn bush grew next to my den, no one would suspect it would have a den hidden inside." I said out loud. Giving my den a final check I turned and trotted toward the windmill farm. I slowed down when the farm came into view. Huh!
Odd thing was I hated being in a pack, well fine I hated being in the same pack Morgra lived in. Damn, because of her I became a wuss. My heat scent made things worse. I'm surprised that Duke called us to a building. Knowing that any male would go crazy with the fumes of a female in heat. Especially when the majority of the pack was females. I wouldn't mind Duke pups, I thought dreamily. I met him once, and I admired him. If it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't have tried true pack life. One where I wasn't a slave like I was in the Skeleton Pack.
I padded forward and entered the barn. The sight of the other dogs made me cower a bit. "Hello again Duke," I said with a flirty smile. I found a spot by myself and turned my attention to Duke.

Taboo was walking with Kaliska, the possibly pregnant coyote who had become her friends. They weren't talking, just walking through the grass in peaceful silence. They had met in the Kalen Memorial Hospital, when both had wanted to be alone and out of the heat. Taboo smiled and sat down to lick her fur a bit. She still had the faint lingering smell of death on her from the hospital, and she really didn't like it. Just as she began re-cleaning her coat, she heard a powerful howl break the silence. "Sounds like Duke is calling a meeting. We better get a move on." She said to Kaliska. "Wouldn't want to be late." With that, the Siberian husky stood, her blue eyes the same color as the bright sky, and nudged Kal. Then she set off quickly to the windmill farm, where the alphas howl had come from.
She arrived to see that dogs had already started arriving. She saw Duke patiently watching the pack members, and she wondered if he would be able to resist all the females in heat. She herself was, but her scent wasn't as strong as some others. Taboo wouldn't be about to let a dog mate her, no matter his rank. She loved pups, but didn't want any of her own just yet. "Hello, Duke." She greeted him, and then nodded her head to a female named Blythe, who she had never really met, and also to Taik. She brushed up against Miloh. He was the omega, but he was also really old, and she could respect him. He had always been a nice dog. She could see Tango, the dog who had been a slave in the Skeleton pack. Boy would that suck. She thought, To be bossed around by a whole pack.. I wouldn't be able to stand it. She nodded her head to the female, and turned to the dogs she actually knew. Tetyana was there, and she ran up to her to give her a friendly lick. Then she walked over to Ruby. "Wow, your pups have grown since the last time I saw them. They really are adorable!" She smiled at the pups, and she wagged her tail happily. Her three friends would be able to meet now! "Have any of you met before? This is Kal, I met her at the hospital. This is Tetyana and this is Ruby." She said, Introducing her friends to each other. Then she sat with her friends to face her alpha with piercingly bright blue eyes.[/blockquote] ooc; Delirium will post when she gets on.

The smell was fainter, by a large margin, then it was when they’d journeyed out of the Hospital those few months again - or at least, it felt like a while ago to the coyote who was waking up with dread, as if the next day would be the day she might discover herself carrying pups. She was defiantly no bitch in heat any more. Which scared her just as much as the possibility of a family. For a female who had never been the type to do the whole family sense, who basically was taught from birth that family connections were a myth – you could understand why she hesitated so. She shook out her semi-thick tanned fur as she watched taboo fall into a sitting position, once more licking at the fur of her body, trying to clean the lingering marks of Lord Death from her coat. “Taboo, it’s almost gone as it is… Ya can barely scent it!” The coyote said, her tones laughing rather then annoyed or exasperated. Of course, The husky didn’t get far before both heads snapped up as a howl echoed the area. Duke… Ugh. Kal’s face startled, “A meeting? Now… I don’t still smell like that Embalm King, do I Taboo?” Fear and worry heated Kal’s tones nervously, as she waited for the other female to stand up before Taboo spoke Wouldn’t want to be late. Late…. Ya… She nudged Kaliska gently before Kal followed, moving quickly and staying close Taboo.
When they arrived at the farm, Kal wrinkled her nose against the scents of the females in heat… At least she wasn’t one of them… Of course, the reason behind that would be just as bad as being in heat – if the word got out. Hello, Duke. Kal looked up at the larger Doberman, and nodded her head in silent greeting, her muzzle going shut the moment she entered the area full of others. Being in large groups was not what the coyote thrived in. Coming from a land down south where she had freedom to her own land, with no pack, sometimes coming into large collections of dogs; like this; just seemed a little… much. Kal carefully kept Taboo between her and any other dogs, as she followed Taboo like a young pup sticking close to it’s mother side. Finally the dog turned towards a small group of females, trotting, and speaking to the one with a small collection of pups around her. Kal watched them in morbid fascination, tilting her head in a thoughtfully confused manner – wondering why the female would even want pups. Family wasn’t important. Family was useless… Family will only hurt you… Kal looked up as Taboo spoke to the female, Wow, your pups have grown since the last time I saw them. They really are adorable! Taboo kept silent, not out of disrespect, but out of her quieter nature, until Taboo brought her into the conversation, of course.
Have any of you met before? This is Kal, I met her at the hospital. This is Tetyana and this is Ruby. The introductions where made. Kal dipped her head; the perfect example of southern courtesy, “Er, hi...” Her words were thick with a southern drawl that only enforced the logical conclusion one might have of the coyote not being from around here. Kal lowered herself into a sitting position, next to Taboo, and glanced at the pups, wondering if she’d soon find herself with a few of her own, before looking away with displeasure at the thought, and eyes trailing up to the Alpha.
OOC://Sorry for taking so long. Every time I went to start on it, I either had to run errands, go to work, had class, or Word closed… But, finally. DONE.
Think the thoughts. "Talk the talk."

Tetyana saw her friend Taboo and her tail began to wag, she stood and went to where Taboo stood with the female and her pups, and another female. As introductions were made she flashed the three females a smile. "Hello, a pleasure to meet you" she said to both of them. Her eyes found the pups and she bent down just a little. "Hello there little ones" she smiled at the pups before looking to their mother, Taboo had introduced her as Ruby. "Your pups are beautiful." she stated as though it should be a known fact. She looked back to Taboo. "Where have you been hiding? I've not been able to find you lately" she said to her friend. This was one of the only dogs Tetyana got along with or even tried to know, this dog was her best friend, and one of her only friends. Though any friend of hers was to be a friend of Tetyanas. Tetyana looked at each of them in turn, her tail still wagging, she was happy to be around those she knew for a change instead of on her own. Even if she didnt know the two females, she knew she would know them soon enough.

A howl. Not just any howl, but the Rigormortis Alpha's howl. Two females, who had merely just been relaxing and enjoying their day had heard it. The red and white Siberian Husky glanced up at the sound of the howl. With a small sigh, she allowed herself to get to her feet. Hazel eyes glancing toward her companion. A red and white border collie. Promise and Mekii glanced at one another before moving toward the barn. The border collie, Mekii, was the first to reach the barn. However, the siberian husky, Promise, wasn't far behind. Upon entering the barn, the two moved to a spot in the back. They just seemed to want to stay out of the way. "Good day, Duke," Mekii commented in a rather soft-toned voice. One that seemed to match her size. "Good day, Alpha." Came the voice of Promise. As soon as they had both finished speaking, they remained where they were. Promise, however, allowed her gaze to roam over the other canines that had made their way here. Ruby and her pups seemed to catch the attention of Promise, but she didn't maneuver her way towards them. Instead, she remained where she was sitting. Quietly, they waited for Duke to say something. Or even for anyone to say anything to them. They didn't know anyone here, at all.

Duke
The secret side of me, I never let you see, I keep it caged but I can't control it. So stay away from me, the beast is ugly, I feel the rage and I just can't hold it...
.xXx. The Doberman wasn’t forced to wait long, until the first of his pack members slipped into the barn. She was a newer member; a Mountain Dog, though female. Duke nodded at her statement, as well in slight greeting, before rolling his shoulders, and fixing his gaze once again on the door. He needn’t be paying too much attention to the females of the group, this time of the season. If he focused on one of too long, it would surely turn out badly. Duke offered a small, yet firm, smile to the female, only before another member entered. His ears swivelled towards the old brute, and he greeted the male with yet another stern nod, before speaking to the female.
“Indeed, I did. It’s about time I call a meeting.”
Duke said with another attempted, yet strained smile.
“Thank you, Miloh.”
Duke said, his tone staying level and completely serious. He would loosen up a little once he felt he could control himself perfectly, and only then would Duke be able to offer a genuine smile to his members. His attention was once again turned to the door, as yet another female entered, tipping her head towards him in a respectful manner. He noted her tone of voice, and nodded towards her, feeling himself tense rather abruptly.
“It’s a pleasure to see you, as well. Thank you for coming.”
Duke said slowly, noticing the way she clamped her tail to her body, as she walked off. The small movement made a smile spread across Duke’s maw, though he directed it towards the next member to enter. Oh rather, captive to enter. Duke’s chuckle was slight, barely noticeable, as he watched her and her puppies enter. Duke’s eyes stayed trained on her expertly, as if trying to make her feel uncomfortable. He winked at her, before rolling his shoulders again. Oh, he had had such great fun with Ruby. It was at that moment, that Taik walked into the room, taking a seat next to Miloh. Duke nodded to her briefly, sending her a small smile to prove her statement correct.
Duke was feeling content then, with a few of his members, and his captive, all waiting for him to speak. The Doberman shook himself, trying as desperately as he could to ignore the intoxicating scents of the females around him. It was as Duke was attempting to put the itching in his core to rest, that yet another female walked in, greeting him with a little flirtatious smile that made his head reel. Duke nodded to her, as he had all the others and spoke briefly.
“Indeed. Take a seat, please.”
He said simply, before smirking at her, in slight interest. Maybe he’d have to have a little... ‘chat’ with her, later. The thought almost made Duke’s maw split into a devilish grin--but thankfully, he restrained himself. His mental guards were far too powerful, to let such things escape. Then, Duke watched as a few more females filed in, one who he recalled being named Tango, as well as a female named Taboo. Duke watched with cold, emotionless eyes as Taboo approached ruby, commenting on her puppies. So, it seems his little slave made some friends. Well, well. That couldn’t be happening, now, could it? Duke would fix that, soon enough. It was then another female came in, Kaliska. The coyote. Duke watched her carefully, his eyes focusing on her intently. Mmm. Damn, did he enjoy that little accent of hers. Duke exhaled forcefully, before noting Promise and Mekii entering, around the same time.
“Welcome you two, please take a seat.”
Duke spoke levelly, his voice unwavering, and one that projected his pure confidence. The scents of the females around him were so entirely powerful; although Duke was sure to keep a short leash on his actions. He wouldn’t go past a wink here, a small touch there. The Doberman would be completely sure to keep himself in check. Or... As much in check as he could manage. The Doberman barked once, the sound softer than before, simply to catch everyone’s attention. Only then, once he was sure all voices had silenced, did Duke trot more towards the middle of the room, making his way from the large door. He held his head high, and his movements were firm; that of a perfectly capable and dominant leader. Duke came to a halt at the front of everyone and smiled a little, reclining onto his haunches.
“It’s a pleasure to see you all here. I want to thank you for coming.”
He said simply, before continuing.
“I have a few topics that I wish to talk about, with you all.”
Duke said, trailing his eyes across the group before him, slowly. Oh yes, they had a problem here. Duke’s eyes lingered on Ruby and his smile grew slightly, before the brute resumed speech. Oh, how her life would be after this meeting.
“Firstly, I want to bring up the fact that, as much as I may enjoy it, the female population is far larger than the males. This needs to change.”
Duke spoke with an almost unheard of tone of playfulness in his voice, as he tried to make a simple joke with the group. He wasn’t completely serious, and he didn’t want anyone to get the wrong idea about his little joke. But that was of a different matter. Duke cleared his head, and continued.
“Ladies, I don’t want you to be offended, but wouldn’t you feel safer with a few bulky brutes ‘round here?”
He asked simply, raising a brow. His tone had suddenly changed into that of seriousness once more, as he spoke. Duke could occasionally make a joke, absolutely. But it was short-lasting, and never really... Changed the overall mood. Duke wasn’t one that could lighten up, because of one little laugh. No, he was all business. But that was why he figured he would run his pack well enough. He could explore things from different angles, and damn-well keep his focus. Aside from this time of year, of course. But it was to be expected, that his focus was off. Wasn’t every males? Such a weakness, females are. The brute scolded himself mentally, before smiling towards the group in front of him.
“I want to make it clear that if any of you can get your hands on a brute and bring him here, you will certainly be rewarded.”
Duke spoke, waiting to see if anyone had any comments. After all, he needed to learn to listen to his pack mates, didn’t he? He didn’t actually have to care for what they said... But he had to at least listen. Duke felt confident he’d be able to at least to that much. The brute rolled his shoulders, attempting to release some of his body’s inner tension, before looking towards Ruby again, in a silent warning.
He would just be a step closer to completely ruining her.
I feel it deep within, it's just beneath the skin, I must confess that I feel like a monster. I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun, I must confess that I feel like a monster.

Close your eyes, and imagine a better place...
Ruby smiled as she was surrounded by many friendly females and glared at Duke, who was keeping his eye on her. If it weren't for the pups who she owed her life to, then she would've tried to escape. But the pups were too young, they could barely go very far without falling over and full speed was not an option for them. Ruby knew she couldn't leave them behind either. Duke would surely torture them at least, but most likely kill them.
One by one, other canines had come up, complimenting on her pups. "Thank you all, I do know that they will be going to the pup-sitter soon. For now they will stay with me though. She said Tithe, and as she left both Ludano and Asteria smiled. Agustus seemed less pleased though. "Hmmph, I'm not cute or adorable. I'm big, mean, and tough... unlike those two girly-girls over there."
[/s] He taunted his siblings, and Asteria immediatly lept on him, knocking her brother over. "Ha! I can be as tough as any brute! If anyone is a soft girly, it's Ludano." Ludano just stared at his siblings roll around on the ground, fighting over his gender. Ruby was also watching. Agustus drove her crazy, if only Duke would just take him off her paws. Asteria was perfect though. She knew right from wrong somewhat and could be a real fighter when she was older. Soon enough three more females approached, one of them was Taboo. She reminded her greatly of her old friend Kapera who was now alone again thanks to Duke. They had promised that they would never be apart... but now they would most likely never see each other again. Taboo introduced the other two females, Kal and Tetyana. Something seemed off about Kal though, like she was hiding something. But Ruby didn't have time to wonder about it as Duke barked announcing the start of the meeting and Agustus and Asteria were still fighting about Ludano, who was now shaking underneath Ruby. She got up and grabbed Agustus by the scruff with a warning growl coming from her throat. "Both of you need to clean up your act. Especially you Agustus. Leave you're brother alone." She sat back down again and Ludano wiggled himself under her, as if on cue. Ruby began licking Ludano's head, trying to calm him down. He had not said a word all day. Normally, he'd at least be able to whimper a "Mom..." or something. But this time he was very upset. She murmured to him soft words of comfort and told him how one day he'd be strong brute no female would resist. More so than Agustus. Ludano was bigger than the other two, he always had. But he was so soft and fragile... it often wondered what kind of strength he could have if he was angry. Duke began to speak of how more brutes were needed. Well, that wasn't a problem for Ruby to solve. She was bound to this land, never to leave unless freed. But she did bring into this pack two small males. Once they were old enough, they would probably choose to stay. He joked about how the girls would feel safer with more males. Heh, she would feel safer alright. Safer from Duke! Chances were, as soon as these pups could take care of themselves, he was probably going to try and make some magic happen again. "Ludano? I'm really sorry...Asteria walked up and apologized with an awkward smile. Obviously she didn't want to. "Huh? Oh. it's okay, I guess." Ludano spoke softly and licked Asteria's chin. Guess I'll have to prais her later She thought with a smile. It's the best you'll ever get. Thought. "Speech." Spoken.(outsider) Spoken.(pups) Table coding © K&T. DO NOT STEAL.
