Summer has come and gone. Although New Directions didn't place in Regionals, they're confident that this year, they can not only place, but win. And why wouldn't they be confident? They finally taught Finn how to dance!
Rachel and Finn have been going out all summer, and their relationship is as strong as ever. Tina and Artie can say the same. Brittany and Santana will always be friends, and the bond between Kurt and Mercedes remains unbreakable. The real question to the other members of New Directions: will Quinn get together with Puck, or will she decide to stay alone? And now that Emma is seeing her dentist Carl, will Will decide to move on, or not give up his red-headed love?
Relationships are definitely not the only problem to be had, though. Vocal Adrenaline, with the loss of its coach and star performer, is on its way down, but Aural Intensity is just getting started. Its head singer, Lisa Esplin, is noted for being a conniving backstabber, and when it becomes clear that New Directions is her group's new rival, she will stop at nothing to tear the group apart. And since Sue has given Will an ultimatum - place or win this year, or else you WILL be disbanded FOR REAL - the sign is clear: McKinley High needs to take Regionals by storm.
